I have often wondered all the grade 1 courses(except Ascot which is ATR+Turf TV,confusion?) made their decisions to align themselves to RUK.Or,conversely, how the others opted for ATR.There are a few non grade1,like Warwick,Catterick,Bangor, that are with RUK,but I wonder what led to the choice.More importantly who finished with the better deal.

Who gets what seems like the best kept secret in racing!

hojo gets it

I think RUK is a co-op for its courses and ATR just pays the tracks. Presumably if RUK floats on the stock market at some point racing will do very well.

Still strange how all the big courses York,Newmarket,Aintree,Sandown,Chester, Goodwood etc. opted for RUK without question.

the 2-bob tracks need to chase the atr/sis dollar more

another poser is why they all keep signing long term deals

Its the Sun v The Daily Mail isn't it. How on earth SIS can find people 2 sit in the booth for 16 hours a day as Chappers used 2 do is beyond me! Oh and he was also Dazzlers agent. What kind of Coffee was he drinking? ;)

You have got to look at who owns the racecourse, I think a lot of the atr courses have a lot of shared ownership with atr! So when atr boast about paying money to the racecourses they are being a little bit**

yep and the bookies own some of SIS so when they complain about paying for picture rights in the shops....

Arena, and they are not "two bob tracks",have 25% of the fixtures. There is nothing wrong with Windsor.
Report heynoodles April 12, 2010 2:59 PM BST
nothing wrong with any atr track... but dubious owners in arena and northern
