no excuses beat by the better horse on the day
Report rocky ttotal January 29, 2010 4:30 PM GMT
they reckon the ground did for him
Report uptothelast January 29, 2010 4:31 PM GMT
Ruby led most of the way. Took a pull throughout the race. Looked to have them on the ropes and probably should have let the horse go. Instead he sat pretty. Suntini came with a sustained challenge and pipped him on the line.
Report rocky ttotal January 29, 2010 4:32 PM GMT
comfortably
Report macca007 January 29, 2010 4:33 PM GMT
Was beat 3 out IMHO
Report GEORGE.B January 29, 2010 4:34 PM GMT
Suntini even made a hash of the last, yet still won.

Report Nomadic Way January 29, 2010 4:37 PM GMT
Going was to blame.
Report dananders January 29, 2010 4:37 PM GMT
ruby is the best jockey around . ill admit ive backed tataniano 4 the arkle and the moneys gone if you cant win a 3 runner micky mouse race ure not winning an arkle . bit iffy how he was weak in the arkle market a month ago and nicholls said after his last win that hell run b4 christmas and he obviously didnt
Report Brother Mouzone January 29, 2010 4:38 PM GMT
I imagine they'll say on the ground it needs the minimum trip, and they may well be corrct as today it was beaten fair and square, as suggested by the Macca.
Report macca007 January 29, 2010 4:38 PM GMT
Can't have ruby best jockey out there
Report dananders January 29, 2010 4:40 PM GMT
imo he is .
Report Nomadic Way January 29, 2010 4:41 PM GMT
He jumped well considering the ground.
Report dananders January 29, 2010 4:42 PM GMT

Report Youmzain January 29, 2010 4:42 PM GMT
Not sure what relevance today's race had to the Arkle.
Report macca007 January 29, 2010 4:44 PM GMT
Find it amazing when a horse that should win at a canter and gets beat , the old the ground was against him excuse comes out .

Maybe it was but a trainer of nicholls standard should say before race " the horse may not go this ground so be careful punters "

Because results like this aren't good for the game.
Report Youmzain January 29, 2010 4:47 PM GMT
Explain your comments please?
Report ImSoLuckyLucky! January 29, 2010 4:49 PM GMT
Jumped rite at some of the fences
Blundered the second i think

Gone right off the hoss

:)
Report Nomadic Way January 29, 2010 4:52 PM GMT
Agree with Youmzain you can't read to much into a 3 runner race defeat.
Report pension fund January 29, 2010 4:52 PM GMT
If you read the form book ,macca you wouldn't need anyone to tell you the ground was not going to be ideal today. Most, including me,still thought he'd win but the excuse is valid.
Report dananders January 29, 2010 5:01 PM GMT
ground at the trip . but u cant blame the trip in a 3 runner race theres no excuses for losing today in my opinion the moneys gone if u like me have backed tataniano
Report galway59 January 29, 2010 5:04 PM GMT
Its a heap of dirt, simple as that.it may not even have beat Fosters Cross in Chelters and that wouldnt be allowed run in the Arkle.
Report flyingbolt January 29, 2010 5:07 PM GMT
He's a good horse,Dananders. Whether he's good enough to win what looks a decent Arkle we shall see but I wouldn't throw your ticket away yet.
Report galway59 January 29, 2010 5:11 PM GMT
Hes a rubbish horse that cannot win the Arkle, not even a bad one.A carbon copy of Tatenen except this thing disgraced itself pre Cheltenham. Will be 20/1 in Cheltenham if Ruby doesnt ride which has to be likely now.He was no good over hurdles either by the way.
Report dananders January 29, 2010 5:12 PM GMT
he is nothing like tatenen imo . hes much faster and doesnt stay a yard past 2 miles which tatenen would be embarrasingly outpaced over 2
Report flyingbolt January 29, 2010 5:23 PM GMT
He's run 9 times
He's won 6 of them

Not bad for a "rubbish horse"

You continue to make yourself look a fool, Cooldine
Report galway59 January 29, 2010 5:52 PM GMT
Hes been beaten by Shalone and that creature today plus he disraced himself against Diamond Harry, hes never ever beat a decent horse.Flyingbolt ,what an ape ya are.
Report flyingbolt January 29, 2010 6:43 PM GMT
The nov hurdle he won at Cheltenham in April....................his 4 closest pursuers have won 22 races between them. (It was this race btw that made me think he was a good horse )

You are way out of your depth ,son. Get back to school.
Report galway59 January 29, 2010 6:59 PM GMT
You were wrong thinking he was a good horse but hey theres always a first time for being wrong. The horses he beat were Postmaster,Aachen,Enfant De Lune,Stage Acclaim and Nothings Easy. The second Postmaster has won two Summer novice chases in Worcester and Fontwell, the others have not even come close to winning a race between them since.Gold Award would have been second in that race but for falling at the last and he got ragged today in Newbury off 124.Its you my friend who is out of his depth in this conversation but i know you wont admit it.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it my little mucker
Report flyingbolt January 29, 2010 7:09 PM GMT
Postmaster 7 wins
Aachen 7 wins
Enfant de whatsit 4 wins
Gold Award 4 wins

Which bit of that doesn't add up to 22, thicko ?
Report flyingbolt January 29, 2010 7:13 PM GMT
I look forward to rubbing your nose in it when this "feller" wins the 2m novice chase at Aintree.
Report woodworm January 29, 2010 7:13 PM GMT
I think people misunderstood when Nicholls said it was their Arkle horse; meant to imply it would be pulling a cart for Arkells Brewery. :D
Report duffy January 29, 2010 7:14 PM GMT
today the horse jumped out to his right at every fence...that is the most worrying as you get the impression that in a race where he would come under proper pressure, the jumping out to the right would be even more pronounced...no chance of winning an arkle with that going on i'm afraid.
Report harchibald January 29, 2010 7:15 PM GMT

I've backed him was gutted to see what happened today ...
Report trademark January 29, 2010 7:19 PM GMT
me 2. Had him in my Ante Post L15 with Dunguib 2/1, Master Minded 5/2 and Zaynar 6/1. Still hoping though, traditionally lots of trouble in the Arkle so you never know.

Report galway59 January 29, 2010 7:25 PM GMT
Suddenly flyingbolt is gone a bit quiet, looks like you are in the minority here now my old mucker.Just because Nicholls said he was a good horse doesnt mean he is,everybody knows Nicholls wouldnt know if he had enough to eat.
