Coleman is absolute class in every aspect (apart from the once-monthly falling off). The decision to put him back on Mon Mone was taken by the trainer and the owner, and wasn't due to Coleman badgering them to get back on.

The stable jockey thing is a contract between trainer and jockey so I dont have a beef with Venetia. I think the owner might have stepped in and insisted that - under the special circumstances of winning the most famous race in the World for them - Treadwell kept the ride. I suppose I'm too much of a romantic about the game on the 21st century though ...

I'm sure Coleman was delighted to get the ride back, but you can be sure that if connections had stuck with Treadwell, Coleman would have taken it like a man. As was alluded to in a Racing Post interview last week, it is impossible to overemphasize how gutted he was when Mon Mome won last year. Took him weeks to get over it, but he still got his head down and got on with this job.
