Racing's biggest showcase day, stop giving non-racing people the impression we relish the agonies of horses somersaulting and jockeys being kicked around. Thanks

I dont actually think that I've seen worse coverage of racing from them than i have over the last couple of days(Gifford Apart)

Zil, the only standout for me has been the superb camera work of Chasers on the Mildmay course. They really need to stop slowmos with bloody big arrows pointing to the horse about to take a fall

Steeple, did you see the thread showing stats of deaths at liverpool on the aintree forum??

Seems that modifying the fences hasnt done anything at all

thing is we do !

ask yourself a question ................

why do folk watch ski sunday .......

enjoy the spectacle of watching incredibly looked after beasts doing what they love to do ........ if a very small % die , accept it .... or move onto another sport son .

HM, I don't and never have watched racing to see horses falling. I think you'll find yourself in a tiny minority

Got it, thanks. I think your point's a sound one: it's speed and adrenaline that do much of the damage. People talk a lot about 'modifications' but, apart from pretty much filling in the drop at Becher's, much of the rest was cosmetic - making take offs 'more inviting' etc.

But the jocks especially get so wound up, it's a devil-take-the-hindmost from when the tapes go up. Murphy keeps calmer than most, I feel, and I'm looking forward to another masterclass on Comply or Die.

But the ground looks too fast to let us have a death-free round; I can only hope I'm wrong.

Yes same analogy for footballers They get injured much more now because they are more finely tuned. Not joking really!
