get laptop and dongle first, get set up then pull plug...pay rest of contract and job done...changing internet is second biggest stress builder to moving house...oh and divorce....when i changed, i got bt line, had AOL set up and then told virgin where to go..it still took a week to sort out outstanding, and they will try to give you full bill - but email in advance and keep a copy and state you will pay next month and that is all

there will probably be a sign on clause, were in you 12 month agreement - standing order etc?..even so, they will probably offer you first 3 months free on subject to contract and finish inside a month..so maybe worth looking into..at least that will give you a get out clause..say BT or AOL want you and see what they offer and will give you time to get set up

Contact them and explain to them why you no longer wish their Broadband package. If you're having or had problems and are not satisfied with their product state this and that you require a refund as their service is not as described in their advertising.

It is worth investigating if you are near a FON hotspot. (Also called BTFON) The beauty of this is, you pay a one off, life time fee of around £25 and can connect wherever you are near a FON connection.

If you are able to access the site. Buy the kit, install it on your network (piece of cake) and then get rid of your broadband. You will also disconnect your FON spot but if you are near another you will be able to connect.

I've done all this for a friend and it works perfectly. BB for life for £25.00. Not bad at all.
