We lived so close to Langstone Harbour that the sea flooded the garden every high tide. Good for the beetroot and sea kale.

Lived in Epsom once - the most miserable and unfriendly folk on the planet.
They even went another route to avoid saying hello in the street.

Hi vernon interesting thread . I would to point out the best views I have every experience in the uk are lake views overlooking any of the lakes in the Lake District , it is like overlooking into paradise . I would recommend a short weekend stay at one of the hotels overlooking a lake .

Vernon , if you have never been , take day trip to Lake Windermere in the summer . You can not move around for people and tourists . There is something to do for everybody . You have all the bookies operating there and the shops are like been on any high street , but with a little better quality goods . The air you breath is so fresh ,you lungs will be alive . If you like walking , some of the treks are breathtaking and the waterfalls outstanding . Some of the top restaurants are situated in the Lakes if you like gourmet food , but the fish and *****shops are also outstanding . I do not work for the lakes tourist board . Go mate and you will go all the time , the whole area is a mini paradise . Good luck with your punting

Used to live facing the sea on Shoreham Beach. Not all its cracked up to be. Forever re-painting the house and the salt wrecks the cars.

Veron , you can live there with easy . A problem you might encounter is finding an affordable property , as so many people in the uk have bought second homes there . This caused an acute shortage of property during the boom years and price were much higher then normal areas . But if you have the cash , I would think now is the time to buy when prices are low , but finding the right property you like , might be a little difficult . Part of the fun is in the looking , I would live there in a heart beat . Take care .
