Report ewood April 8, 2010 3:42 PM BST

Surely not foul play?
Report a bit dizzee April 8, 2010 3:42 PM BST
ROO has a bag of carrots and a high visibility vest, and is jumping up and down by the flight.

The is racecourse ambulance 20 yards before the hurdle, maybe it's that?
Report loper April 8, 2010 3:42 PM BST
The final hurdle is sighted close to the pre parade ring.
Report Dan Chipowski April 8, 2010 3:42 PM BST
That horse was smack bang down the middle of the track and yet veered right over.

It has to be the small gap between the flight and the rail.
Report SUPERBLADE1 April 8, 2010 3:42 PM BST
have come in from work placed 2 bets and both done that at last unreal
Report Gordon63 April 8, 2010 3:42 PM BST
i know some folks want to joke about this but there is something or someone seriously doing some damage here - not only to favs out in front at the last but potentially to jockeys and onlookers lives!
Report wizardofoz April 8, 2010 3:42 PM BST
These stupid yellow coats can't help.

Report councillor April 8, 2010 3:44 PM BST
The painted top bar of the hurdle is showing . They usually put gorse through the top. There is little to cover the top bar
Report ewood April 8, 2010 3:44 PM BST
If the flourescent jackets are spooking the horses, why do the horses run towards them and not away ffs
Report Poppydog. April 8, 2010 3:44 PM BST
Yellow jackets ---- rubbish
All the other horses go over fairly well
Report craigirvine April 8, 2010 3:44 PM BST

Report Bye bye Paddy April 8, 2010 3:46 PM BST
Well thats me giving up - blown £1000 on both races at Taunton - backed Whistlejacquet large and laid Organisateur the race before - Taxi for me
Report MarkH1 April 8, 2010 3:47 PM BST
All these excuses, but can someone explain why it only seems to affect the short priced favs in each race and not any of the other runners? :D
Report Poppydog. April 8, 2010 3:47 PM BST
But it's only happening to the leader - not the dozen horses following
So can't be a static object problem
Report Gerbs April 8, 2010 3:47 PM BST
why is it only affecting the one that looks like winning
Report pizaro April 8, 2010 3:47 PM BST

Report Poppydog. April 8, 2010 4:18 PM BST
Fortunately he won, but home straight first time round was continually jinking
Report onlooker April 8, 2010 4:20 PM BST
Amazing that it was the TWO odds-on favs that both ducked out.

As in both races two other horses were close up at the hurdle, and had similar chances to do the same.
