seriously - take a look at last years grand national - keep your eye on Mon Mome from start to finnish - then put 7lb on his back - go watch this years Gold cup - When they cross the line imagine its a mile to run and your betting in running -- What price is Mon Mome trading at OK
Then after looking try to find a horse in the national who caan beat him? 14-1 is a massive price fill your boots

the last horse to win carrying that sort of weight diddles was red rum in 1973
before that was sundew in 1957
top weights often get placed,but very rarely win ;)

I would say that the gold cup run was deceptive in as much as he ran by horses who had attempted to win the race and were in the process of being carried out on their shields. No disputing the fact that he was a good winner last year but that really was a strange race imo with anyone of about a dozen still in with a chance at the second last. I fully expect something to serve it up to the the field this year but trouble is I am not sure what that will be as it looks unlikely that WB will make the cut. Good Luck. B-)

every race is a strange race JC - but go look where mon mome was in the national llast year after 3miles 1 furlong and watch both the grand national and the gold cup and see if you can pick many holes in his jumping or his staying power. I have and its difficult.
By the way hes absolutely nothing to look at a bit like Red Rum and his style of racing is very similar
