He doesn't find trouble. He has very good hearing and hears a gurgle. The welfare of the horse is paramount, so he doesn't hit it too hard in order to let the horse slow down naturally.

I'm well aware of that larrence, but he still has to get them home..

Sylvester de Sousa used to show him up on a daily basis.
