14 in the mix ...zaverteri ,distant storm ,saba desert ,pacific avenue for Godolphin, 6 for ballydoyle gstaad Dorset Italy Brussels Frescobaldi hawk mountain, oxygon for the gosdens, wechaad for varian ,alpersan for Karl Burke and gewan for a balding hopefully at least 10 line up . an interesting race as ever if most turn up .
If the front 3 in the Mkt show it'll be a good race. Not original but I think this is out of the 1ST & 2ND in the National Stks.Result was on the bob,can see Gstaad getting his revenge here. Gewan's already beat the jolly Distant Storm & was a bit disappointing LTO when fav for the Champagne Stks although the Wnr of that won the GP1 race in France this weekend.Maybe the Sft going was against him @ Donny?. Get's back to that York form could look a big price around the 16/1 mark.I do like Gstaad for this though. GL ALL

9 runners declared 3 Godolphin 2 ballydoyle nice competitive affair with a decent sized field , the front 3 in the betting take a huge chunk out of the market .

I'm wondering why AOB is running Italy in this race; Italy seems to need further than 7f, probably even 8f, so why run him here when he's already been thumped by Zavateri, Saba Desert and Gewan?

Just a watching race, for me, as none have run even close to the level of a potential Guineas winner yet. My top rated is in line with the market, Distant Storm, who is about 8 or 9lbs behind the level he'd need for an average Guineas. As he comes here after a peak effort he seems the most likely but I see no value in his price. I have Gstaad just 1lb behind him, but that was achieved in the Coventry Stakes. I'm surprised Timeform have rated Zavateri equally, as to me it's very clear that Gstaad hasn't quite been at his Coventry level on his last two starts and I have Zavateri 4lbs behind Gstaad at his best. I actually have Gewan 1lb ahead of Zavateri, but that one fell off a cliff last time.
Just hoping to see a true Gp1 winning performance, as we're going through a serious lull where fast horses are concerned.

not much between the front 3 in the market odds wise or form wise they may well fight out the finish but zaverteri and gstaad only a head or so in it last time both may have had a hard race ,they might still be good enough but not for me at the odds distant view obviously had a decent chance but was near 5l behind gewan at York so at the prices I'd be with gewan who for whatever reason behind oxygon disappointed at Donny, ground ? peuto Rico the winner has franked the form and also cape orator have both won since , at big odds I can back a few and alparsan is unbeaten 2 from 2 fromm the Karl burke yard whos venetian sun beat gstaad in France narrowly so the yard have a form line alpasren has looked very decent in both wins and tho stepping up in class could out run his odds here 33s readily available which I have taken. selections gewan 25 ish plus on here and alpasren 33s plus on here . good luck opinions encouraged.

The cash for Gstaad indicated he'd shown improvement on the Ballydoyle sectional print outs, and, as more often than not, the improvement was matched on the track, and I have him up 6lbs. Distant Storm replicated his last figure exactly and I have Zavatera up 3lbs. Gewan put the cliff fall behind him and I have him up 11lbs. Pleased to say it was a race where the time proves it to be of better quality than it might appear. I have Gewan only 1lb-2lbs short of an average Guineas winning figure, and with a shortage of fast opposition around he will be difficult to beat if remaining in that form.
He has to get to the Guineas in the same form and even if he does there's always the chance a lower rated runner could make big improvement, as happened with Field Of Gold this year. There's also the Futurity to come. Nevertheless, I'd make him no bigger than 6/1 even at this stage, half the price he's available at.
