Just had a thought.
After Auguste had won the Irish Champion Stakes, very much with the aid of superb Coolmore tactics the “Aiden is a genius” hype all started as Auguste had once again returned from a terrible “effort”.

But there are 2 ways of looking at this.

Instead of saying it’s an act of genius to get Auguste to recover well after 2 flops, you could ask what sort of idiot would manage to get a dual Derby winner and Irish champion to run so appallingly, not once but twice?

Of course neither point of view would be reasonable. But journalists will have their superlatives and overstate everything no less than a zillion times per sentence.

Well COT can the great man do a repeat of Auguste with Ylang Ylang ? ...or is she in need of the Great Man that  revived Lazarus ? Or a place lay for the 1/2 @ around the evens ?

2 pilots were asleep in The Rockfel ie Mr Murphy and Mr Moore. Just watch how these two pilots atone in the Fillies Mile in 2 weeks' time. All is not lost.

To suggest Ryan Moore and Oisin Murphy were "asleep" is nonsense.

Carlas Way the eventual winner was lying 2nd to the pacesetter Spiritual with Shuwari and Ylang Ylang about 7l behind Carlas Way. At the 3f marker the distance remained the same to Carlas Way who cruised up to join Spiritual; at the 2f market Carlas Way took it up still 7l infront of Ylang Ylang and Shuwari. The winning distance was 2.25l and 4.75l to Shuwari and Ylang Ylang respectively.

I think from the above one can confidently infer Mr Murphy and Mr Moore misjudged the pace, under-estimated Carlas Way and how easy Carlas Way was travelling at the front.

Well no reason now not to just accept the facts that are there for all to see. Auguste Rodin: not only getting him back to perform at a high level but doing it a couple of times with AR. And telling us all in good time too. Got Ylang Ylang its Group1. Completely outwitted the Santa Anita vets with his declaring of two runners and winning it regardless of the vets actions. We are just so lucky to have this GENIUS in our life times. Long may he reign. Best trainer of racehorses ever, and he is Irish through and through See him in the Curragh in March 2024.

Get Aidan to switch to a stable of class 5/class 6 runners, and give that trainer Ballydoyle.
If Aidan can win classic races with class 5/class 6 horses I would say he is very good. Cool

Derby, Irish champion and breeders cup winner, I think the trainer will be happy enough.

Don't forget the Irish Derby as well. Quite unbelievable the crap that gets spouted on here about this great trainer.
