suppose the draw could be a factor on the day, little big bear 7/2 was a dodgy favourite LTO, and so it proved having backed shaquille in its previous win before the ascot run, that was the one i liked, did get lucky LTO after a poor start, as missed the royal ascot meeting, wouldnt be interested in backing little big bear and the favourite is only 9/4, azure blue is a rapid improver could be a danger. wait see how things look on the day, lot of rain expected next weekend at newmarket

Away from the July Cup, I see Nostrum is entered in the Listed Henry Cecil Stakes.

The rain has arrived and no surprise to see Kinross a group 1 winner backed into favourite, think shaquille is the best of the lot, don’t think he’s better on that ground tomorrow, has few problems at the start of races, Kinross had good top speed on this type of ground last year, azure blue chance if it can handle the ground tomorrow, Kinross has more stamina .

looking at july cup winners, its very bad race for older horses, usually a 3yo or a 4yo that wins this race, half the field are older horses and that has to be a big negative, dont know if the rain has hit newmarket this morning, looking at the times to see how the ground is during the day, will be useful, little big bear still has no chance

For an early developer his record shows it wasn’t a top class sprinter, backed it when it won for 200, didn’t impress me that day, didn’t like it NTO, didn’t know the horse from last season
