No idea how it failed to win last year, only 5lb higher but a year older, nice pipe opener over hurdles and no super-sexy well handicapped second season chasers in the race that I can see so should win this time with a half decent ride.

i like the way gericault roque travelled lto and the fact tom rode , got off the winner and the vibe was the other horse , i backed the winner  he he . I think gr will be on the premises

the race always sticks in my throat after £200 on behrahjan back in the day so i can empathise , but , we move on older and wiser and this time hopefully !

Just finished watching last years race and personally , I think re-mastered would,ve have won it . He had a prep run in a aintree hurdle race going into that . Tom couldn't get off the year befores winner though , cloth cap . This year tom got off remastered in the aintree hurdle prep to partner gerricault roque . Quickly , Pipe won it 2 years ago , would have been very close last year and this  year tom partners a weak g/r in the trusted aintree hurdle when the market spoke for remastered given his form profile .I  don't like to stick my neck out and i could be wrong as g/r needs to show up in the work to keep tom on board over remastered .    +

Of course if tom picks remastered that is a big negative towards my bet , but , remastered wont half in price g/r will . Best of luck

To sum up , gerricault roque is a long-striding , galloping type , he handles soft , but , wont need to . He,s suited better by a bit of good ,  he runs towards the head of the race and his rider is well known to be near the front , this is a requirement in the race . He is experienced of the course and has a overall l/h bias . Hes only ran 10 times , but , is a experienced chaser 5 runs over fences 10 in total . He came second in the two big chases he competed in and is only a 6 yo . The yard may well have won the race last year with remastered . Tom has the experience of winning the race the year before on cloth cap . He could fall at the first , but , with a profile like that 8-1 is a very attractive price .

well done to the winners , I thought gerricault roque ran his race as I  expected , But , didn't find the improvement required . Thats showbizz !
