It’s the obvious conclusion. Bloody shame after all. I would suggest that a few owners went to JG because of his stable jockey, who has not become useless overnight.
Loyalty is a quality not valued very highly by some it seems.
I suppose there may have been words we don’t know about between them. But it looks very bad. A public criticism of Franky. Then repeated the criticisms when arguing you need to look forward and not rake over the past.
End of an era really with Frankie not likely to get another fancy job at his age and retirement now looking most likely.
I do feel there may have been rather better ways to thank Franky for his service.
Some of his rides on the likes of Golden Horn in the Arc will live on forever.
Good luck and thank you Franky from a fan. You were as close to the great Lester as anyone since he retired and when you were full of confidence horses ran so much better for you than anyone.
You are legend. There will never be another!

In many respects I agree with you cot but something was wrong with Frankie at Ascot and it showed. For me Frankie has definitely lost his edge. There is no sentiment in any business but particularly in horse racing and for me Frankie blew it at Ascot and not just in the Gold Cup. Good luck to him. He could probably give a lesser/smaller but equally ambitious stable two or three good years. It has happened before and there are plenty of good, ambitious young trainers emerging who would be absolutely delighted to gain his experience.

I would say Frankie has been missing in the yard , it takes a lot to build up a resentment against him as he,s such a charismatic , affable and most talented jockey . You can only build that if he,s not there .

No one is disputing Dettori did not have his customary good Ascot. But, the way he'd been treated and criticised in public were unnecessary and unprofessional esp from a high profile trainer and stable.
I do not own Emily Upjohn. If I did Dettori will be my 1st port of call for a jockey. I'm sure Dettori will have plenty of support from overseas; Gosden's loss is others' gain, I believe.

Nice to hear Frankie has got a few rides from the Gosdens . My first thought regarding the split was work ethic . I was wondering if he had put his pencil in ala Fallon afterwards . Appears not the case , these show-off type are lazy and Frankie will be invigorated knowing what he does in the morning is being watched .
