Thought it might be worth be having a few quid each way on High Definition for the Derby before he runs in the Beresford Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon - general odds of 25/1 available currently but would expect to shorten significantly should he win today.
Aidan O’Brien has won each running of the Beresford Stakes since 2009 (only not winning in 2010), winners below:
2019 - Innisfree (hasn’t ran as a 3yo) 2018 - Japan (3rd in the Derby) 2017 - Saxon Warrior (4th in the Derby) 2016 - Capri (6th in the Derby) 2015 - Port Douglas (14th in the Derby) 2014 - Ol Man River (didn’t progress as a 3yo) 2013 - Geoffrey Chaucer (tailed off in the Derby) 2012 - Battle Of Marengo (4th in the Derby) 2011 - David Livingston (didn’t progress as a 3yo) 2009 - St Nicholas Abbey (superstar)
My point being it’s normally a race which O’Brien targets with his future Derby horses, but if that’s what you want to take from it then the answer is yes.

The same bookies who are refusing to take bets from recreational punters, and **** claiming horse racing will not exist without their support through the present levy - a pittance in terms of their colossal profit - have trimmed High Definition into 10/1 best best price for this race. Pathetic!
I think it's high time their betting/gaming licences are under a stringent and radical review the way they are taking horse racing for granted and to ransom. They should be operating under a new licence that reflects the digital age and simplicity and surety of another colossal profit eg a tax on their gross turnover where a percentage of which allocated to horse racing.
Incidentally, the lame duck head honcho at the BHA Mr Rust out to be sidelined for even contemplating to go to the government cap-in-hand for a handout to support horse racing - a sport of kings. What a total pillock? I think he's lost touch with the sport entirely, and ought to be ashamed of himself for not batting for the sport.
I'm a horse racing fan and punter but no way can I support asking money from the government. I'd rather have no horse racing for 3 months whilst a new levy agreement is agreed (or not); money would be better spent on more socially conscious projects than supporting horse racing.
The blood-suckers of the sport ie the bookies are still making huge easy profits under the present levy; their colossal profits of many years from fobts should be spent on the sport, and not wasted or siphoned into the pockets of their ceo(s) **** mainly non-conducive for horse racing.
Mr Rust is a total pillock, and not good for horse racing. He's definitely virtue signalling, the bookies being his number 1 destination, I believe.

High Definition, who is a full brother to last year’s race winner Innisfree, is now the 12-1 market leader with Paddy Power for the 2021 Epsom Classic.
O’Brien, who was winning his 20th Beresford Stakes overall, said: “He’s lovely and puts away a lot of ground. He’s a big, rangy horse with a massive, big stride and is one to really look forward to.
“It was the same in his maiden – you would say he’s not going to get there and in the end he’s won easily.
“I’d say we’ll put him away now. He could start in a Guineas and he looks like he’ll be a middle-distance horse.
“I was a bit worried about the bend as he’s never been around one before.”

I’m all over Derab at a Billies boosted 55/1 for this.
A Khalid Abdullah homebred Sea The Stars half-brother to Enable in the care of John Gosden and so likely to be ridden by Dettori,
A very eye catching educational run on debut when second to La Barrosa at Ascot iver 7f. Winner won a Group 3 at Newmarket at 4/7 on Thursday and the very well backed 3rd at Ascot trained by Roger Varian hacked up next time.
Knowing Gosden he’ll find a nice easy race at Kenpton or Newcastle, or maybe Nottingham where Golden Horn won his maiden, before a Derby trial next spring.
Given his breeding and connections I’d have expected him to only be about 20/1, time to bet like men.

Unreal run where he came from, even last 150 yards looked well beat and sprouted wings.
1m 4f will be no problem
10/1 seems fair enough at this stage.O'brein trained, by GalileoUnreal run where he came from, even last 150 yards looked well beat and sprouted wings. 1m 4f will be no problem
Very good spot unclepuncle, just watched the replay of his debut there. As you said, Gosden should find a nice opportunity for him before the end of the season and the general 50’s on offer seems more than fair. Have just added him to my tracker there.

I have had a small interest High Definition and Derab too at 25s and 50s. I think they could both develop into Derby contenders if they hopefully progress as expected.

I have taken the plunge an stuck a few quid on Lone Eagle @ 33/1 (365)
By Galileo I have backed him most of his starts and surely they're dreaming of Epsom.
At the very least I can see him winning a trial and the price collapsing!
G/L.

Calling St Nicholas Abbey a superstar is a bit of an exaggeration. He actually literally could not get Frankel off the bit. Now there was a real superstar!

Still gives you goose bumps. We have never seen anything quite like him and being old I probably won’t again.

well done if you got the big prices on high definition, he is into single figgas now ,sorting through ballydoyles derby hopes takes some doing and its prob now a question of which has progressed through the winter, high definition won on his debut at the curragh coming from last to first in taking fashion, but just 3/4 of a length behind him was stablemate WORDSWORTH who ran a very promising race himself and started fav for that curragh maiden . stoutly bred by galileo plenty of stamina in the pedigree and always prominent he led near the finish only to be passed by the winner close home both he and the winner have plenty of scope for improvement just think 50/1 is too big .

Any news of Master of the Seas? I didn't spot any comments about the horse in Godolphins Dubai squad.
The horse may not prove up to 12f, but it won well over 7f as a July 3yo at Newmarket so that's always a positive sign of stamina.
High Definition...looks a decent one alright, but limited appeal at current prics, and I can see him being more effective over the Leger distance

7/1 favourite for the Derby at @EpsomRacecourse , @Ballydoyle maestro Aidan O'Brien is relishing 2021 with the unbeaten High Definition who won the Beresford Stakes this year, but also gives a nod to Criterium winner Van Gogh

If High Definition wins this no punter can accuse AOB of hiding him; 6/1 is very short despite his impressive win from a seemingly hopeless position 1f out in his only outing. But, he'll be much shorter if winning one of the recognised Trials in Ireland. Let's hope we see a truly outstanding Derby winner since Golden Horn in 2014.

won his maiden beating stablemate wordsworth 3/4 of a length ,then won the beresford coming from last and showing an impressive turn of foot inside the final furlong won easily in the end after looking an unlikely winner a furlong out . looks a weapon and aob seems to like him a lot ,just the price a bit short for me but could see him starting very short for the derby if he gets there all things equal good spot paterson.

cleveland ....i noticed a few weeks back that there was money on the pink side waiting to back this so had a closer look at the horse , trained by aob by camelot /venus de milo 3 races as a 2 yo ending with a 4l win in a curragh maiden ,entered in the irish and english derbys ,stamina packed pedigree and got better with exp last season 33/1 for the epsom gig worth keeping an eye with regards to high definition and possibly one for the irish derby or st leger .

Can see now why they ran Derab over the mile. He’s clearly a bit of a nut job and fought for his head for two furlongs meaning he had nothing left when the winner quickened. Surprised he was so strong in the market.
Hard to see him staying further unless they can teach him to settle.
