Backed Elegant Escape and Truckers Lodge some while ago and if they run anticipate trading. No more action, if at all, till final field declared but the aforementioned will be the main hopes.

The next confirmation stage is on Saturday(21st) and it will be interesting to see whether Native River is supplemented for the King George which needs to be done by noon the previous day(20th). It would cost the connections £10,000 to supplement and I can't imagine that they would pay this and then decide to run in the Welsh National. If it didn't run in the Welsh National the weights would go up 7lbs with Elegant Escape carrying top weight of 11-12. If this happens then potentially 13 horses would come into the handicap proper(those currently 9-13 to 9-7) and with the going likely to be even more testing than usual this could be influential.

Tizzard junior suggesting Elegant Escape will be their only intended runner.

As GTW points out, that changes those in the handicap markedly.

My short list is far too long but Joe Farrell must be considered .

Now that Native River is almost certainly a non runner I have also backed Prime Venture. Just hope he turns up.

Backed Joe Farrell in the Ladbroke but don`t think he likes soft/heavy ground

Backed Potters Corner @ 40-1 before he won over hurdles last weekend. Was feeling rather smug as his price has gradually contracted to as low as 10-1, then on checking my account have sickeningly realised that Ive actually backed Potters LEGEND by mistake.
Oh dear...

Surely they will leave Native River in and it will be a NR on the day?

Had a few each way squid's on YALA ENKI 5 places, Gotta be thereabouts if unraceable, which it usually is here...

Native River not running puts Potters Legend only 2lbs O/H. If Maxime Tissier rides he will be 3lb well in Excited
Thats the good news LaughLaughLaugh
What a muppet.

Think Yala Enki has a shout, though Now McGinty, if handling heavy ground, will take some stopping.

I always look to see which horse benefits the most when weights go up. So in the anticipated absence of Native River, the horse that benefits the most is Field Exhibition which would be the only horse on 10st exactly. Whilst I am not saying the mare will win, there are reasons to suggest that 100/1 is far too big a price. On her first run for the Grace Harris stable last December she carried 12-7 in an admittedly poor handicap hurdle winning in a canter on very heavy ground at Uttoxeter, so that ticks the ground box. Her last win over fences was at Hereford in a class 3 race again very easily by 13 lengths beating a subsequent winner and only went up 9 lbs in the handicap putting her on 134, her current mark. Yesterday in a 3 mile class 1 listed race at Newbury on soft ground she gave the favourite a race in the straight before unseating at the last. The winner is rated 158 but Field Exhibition only received 4 lbs due to the race conditions. I appreciate small field conditions races are not necessarily a reliable form guide. She would not have beaten the winner but jumped well and is sure to go up in the handicap for the run, making 10st nicely weighted. Furthermore Harris is likely to book a jockey that can claim.... so around 9-9 is quite appealing. I have backed FE on here at odds of 138, not for much but just because it was too big a price IMO and no i'm not looking to trade out! There is a distinct possibility that Field Exhibition might not get into the race but provided she is declared and then eliminated stakes are returned. Good luck whatever you choose to back.

With Benny's King a likely defector I will take Arthur's Gift or Prime Venture . Both look nicely weighted but heavy ground is a concern .
For those who like a flutter at big prices may I suggest Looks Like Power . On a point of handicapping he has no chance but he has Chepstow form , loves the muck , has never fallen and sometimes jumps really well . His form suggests that the extended trip might bring some improvement and one can argue that he is a late developer . Three wins from twelve chases show that he is no shirker and the yard has had a couple of winners recently . The horse has won at this time of year and goes for a claimer . I believe he has a squeak here . 100/1 at present .

Dunlaying. Ive been looking at Looks Like Power to place at a price. Cant see him being in first 3 or 4 but should get round and will wait till the day and back him e/w to finish in top 6 or 7.
Unfortunately for me Potters Legend not declared and will be gutted if Potters Cross wins!

elegant escape is the horse most people will pick imo . i find the now mcginty money significant , look for him to strengthen or weaken and hold your bet . connections will sway the market , whom is well on the day . back the steamer

I backed Elegat Escape the moment he crossed the line at Newbury (10s).

I would not be rushing in at the current price to be honest, but he should go there with every chance.

Good luck whatever you are on.

Backed and traded Prime Venture, Elegant Escape and Truckers Lodge which has allowed a further two picks Yala Enki and Potters Corner. Will back them all to place in which ever market offers evens or better.

No. Didnt have a penny on it.
Wallowing in self pity, making my way through a box of whisky liquers and wondering how I might have spent my non-existent winnings.

I did something similar in the Swinton hurdle year before last. Loaded £30 e/w on Silver Streak early in the week at 12-1 and thought Id pressed the PLACE BET but turns out I hadnt. Shouted the horse home a few days later, then couldnt work out why my BET365 account was only showing the £60 Id loaded earlier in the week. Then that dawning realisation that Id f****d up. You would have thought id learned my lesson....

Anyway, well done any winners (he says through gritted teeth!)
