Some day Fab.....Cepage and Ok Corral....top class punting.
+85.62 j plate / g d j -0.5 c mer / milit -1 mr whit / d r c -0.5 cal / gmp /cdm /m river -1.5 +82.12 / 0 IP Half Term Report Little late starting this season, the november meeting at HQ,the blame rests entirely with mrs noc and virgin media, her passion for booking holidays in october remains unabated, their customer service .... Drizzly sunday morning following a p!ss poor day yesterday, the norm for january. Thats a lesson I have learned from here, over a few seasons now.Isolated in punting land,it would not be the easiest thing to pick up on.Quite why this month stands out remains a mystery, getting out anywhere near level feels like a lottery result. Unlike FACTS / CVB I have no spreadsheets, or the savvy to produce one. The TV screen has a built in re-inforced Grille, automatically employed from midday every winter weekend. Frustrating only touches the edge when I look at how some things pan out, getting things wrong is a constant, getting things right and not taking advantage is the really annoying part. Quite a few changes from previous seasons, the most obvious would be the betfair SP.The stronger markets in the classier races appeal in that respect, the big festival prices can be way out of line to what we see as a returned industry SP,something for the coming few months. Just a quick check of yesterdays results touches on another change. How many of yesterdays horses that ran well or were placed have been stuck up on here recently. When you think you have spotted something, sticking with that gut instinct, not just on a couple of runs. Jockeys are another taboo subject.Every weekend, jockey x or y is riding better than ever, into their thirties or older, muscling half a ton of horse flesh around at their will. The reality of that,in a sport that does require a high degree of fitness, looks flawed to me.A huge change there in this seasons thinking, something that bears close inspection over a period of time, not specific rides. The last few pages on here highlight just how good some of the long term ante-post punting can be.These guys intrigue me just how far they can see the target for respective horses,it can only come from hard graft. I am very fortunate to share some views occasionally with a few on here,it goes way beyond the weekly tussle of our own betting woes. They always come up with a different angle, invariably light years ahead of what I have seen.Rarely spoken about,a part of the sport that keeps me going through these long winter months. They know who they are, immensely helpful whenever asked,we rarely agree or disagree, thats the whole point. Going forwards, plenty of room for improvement,in many areas. Nows the time to start formulating those early season form-lines. Sorry for the long waffle, licking my wounds from yesterday ![]() Fantastic couple months ahead for any NH fan, looking forward to it ![]() |

"Getting things right and not taking advantage" It's a p!sser shortlisting one and watching it win un-backed. I can talk myself out of backing one for sh!t reasons, a bad habit.

Morning GI
Limited Reserve Lisnagar Oscar Cepage From the last 2 weekends only,Cepage being the most annoying, put a long spiel up on him on the Caspian Caviar thread, time and again these handicappers that benefit from a decent break following injury. Stuck Lisnagar up in a handicap two weeks ago,u/r at the 2nd off 140,has she blown his mark by running him yesterday,he could be another Marracudja, how much will he go up for that? Really liked the run of one you stuck up yesterday in the 2 1/2 novice race. Not in the frame,if he keeps that mark 143,Ideal for the close bros, looked a sighter to me,jumped for fun, thoughts? Onwards |

quick question in regards palmers hill you like for pertemps, isn't qualified yet i see, when you thinking he'll get him qualified?? |

lol Harry, I’d love to argue, but yeah, total dog muck
![]() Got the security of NRNB for him, but here’s the remaining British qualifiers (he’s not entered at Musselburgh sadly). No sure if any more in Ireland. 9th Feb – Exeter 15th Feb – Haydock 22nd Feb – Chepstow All those courses are doable for the yard hopefully. |

My wife's cousing is a helicopter pilot who takes tourists to places like White Island. He was not working that day, but his colleague was. He had 6 people on his flight and he told them to stay in the sea until it was safe to leave. 3 of them took his adivce, the other 3 didn't and died. Really horrific story and I suspect a lot of the details got spared over here. People basically got steam boiled in their clothing. Horrific. |

If anyone has the info at hand i'd really appreaciate a list of all Tom Segals's pricewise tips for Cheltenham...it's always worth identifying his best selections and binning the rest as he will hit one or two winners.

Betfair Hurdle - Mack The Man 2pt ew 8/1, var.
With the advent of the Dublin Racing Festival, and less high class runners from the likes of Mullins coming over, Mick The Man should hopefully get in off 130. The last two years bottom weight has been mid 120 (125, 126). Prior to the DRF some years it was 135!! I reckon Evan Williams has spotted that so he's kept this one back since beginning of Dec. |

didn't mean it to sound so brutal, always have a look to see what your'e coming up with and nice to see you thinking straight now...cannot stand what the bookmakers are doing in regards ante post betting at present, just cutting horses to an SP return without pushing others out, every horse seems an SP price horse unless you take the plunge early which adds more risk to you're betting anyway it makes me illi quite liked that chantry house was 16/1 general then a small novice is run at haydock and he's 10's within a day and you can't say it was a monumental gamble anyway keep up the good work lads i see most of you are in profit quick question on no comment whom i like do you think he gets home at a distance fabulous it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up in the mildmay fleet |
|
By:
Don’t be daft Harry, I took it the right way
![]() Yeah, definitely harder than ever the old Antepost, and unless I think the price is really worth it, or it’s a traditional big Antepost race, I’ll try for NRNB where possible. Yeah, that’s certainly a plausible target for No Comment, but I just really like him for The Kim Muir. He caught my eye in it last year, and been on my radar ever since. He’s a big fancy, and I think the trip will be ok. |
|
By:
i knew you would fabulous but was fully deserved anyway
glad to see you hitting form though, i thought for a moment you'd starting using heroine or sniffing glue but have been backing quite a lot of junk myself this season...still it's turned and i've never seen you not show a profit on here so kick onno comment on my radar just wish he hadn't hit the deck the last day, trying to figure this crew out is never easy but this has to be the year it's off, as he has been too inexperienced up till now the prices for the races are putrid imo i've been backing champagne classic for months and was hoping to play more but we are now dealing with a day of the race market, so impossible to take anymore risk, add to which the mullins horse has caught me cold and think he will win tbh but difficult to play him at the odds so will just do the normal and shut my eyes and pray mullins drops him in on the day i'm backing one in handicap on sunday so will do the honourable thing and post it, no doubt finish out the back of the telly, keep well |
|
By:
Cheers Harry
I’ve watched that Leapordstown run back, and yes, the fall was unfortunate, but I think he’d have been involved. Yeah, a lot of desperate prices about. I agree about Champagne Classic, I didn’t put him up here, as I had been betting him steadily through the summer, till it got to the point I had too much on, and I took a decent cash out when his price plummeted. I’ll go back in again on him, on more modest terms. I’ll def be betting on the Sunday Handicaps so hopefully we’ll ha e a winner between us. |
|
By:
yeah i've gone down to 7/1 the classic then along comes carefully selected, hopefully he can do the business as i've had my bollox on him probably to much on trixie bets as well, this mullins nag maybe to good though, could of gone close in the rsa that selected horse, just got to hope he takes a lead as he can hit one, anyway i'm done so am working on the foxhunter, do like a good amateur race me although this year isn't proving easy to find one as the hazel horse maybe to good
i'm only doing the harry fry hurdle sunday just weening my way through the last few a cracking puzzle |
