Facts, its absolutely horrendous when that happens! I tend to give the selections I back a chance or 3 to redeem themselves. This was one of those rare occasions I did not. If I'd backed it today, I would be finishing in front for the flat season no matter what.

Just the 7 bets all season up to champions day on saturday.
One of those was Donjuan Triumphant at newbury, went off like a scolded cat and was first beat.
Gave him a close look at the weekend.......different tactics and he fair romped home
We have all been there......right horse, wrong day, comes with the territory.
Good to see some new posters throughout the season.
In no particular order.....well done to

Anyone else showing a profit.
As always, plenty of winners, plenty of insight, conducted in the right spirit.
Just as it should be.

I agree also about missing horses that ' go in ' unbacked after previously carrying our money and not winning ! Very frustrating. I've had a number of examples on the Flat this season in sprint handicaps.
This week I went back through my records and using on line form info. Compiled a list of my previous selections, and ' followed ' them( on paper ) for their next 4 runs.
Of course 1 season doesn't prove anything ( fluke ? ). But it's whetted my appetite. So I shall undertake similar exercise on previous Seasons, to see what results ' following certain horses ' brings.
Thank noc. I echo your sentiments. I agree also about missing horses that ' go in ' unbacked after previously carrying our money and not winning ! Very frustrating. I've had a number of examples on the Flat this season in sprint handicaps. This week

Thanks, Noc. Well done to facts and Sint for finishing the season with their noses in front too. I've been out of the country a lot this year so I didn't bet as much this flat season. Getting back to giving horses another chance or 3. I've been doing this for a number of seasons now and there is definitely scope for making extra profit from this method. Its good to see you've done some research on your own selections, Facts and it doesn't surprise me they are are showing a bumper profit. I would argue this isn't a flash in the pan.
There is a theory for giving a horse more chances and my theory is that you've spent time researching a horse and even though he/she wasn't the right fit for a particular race you initially thought it would be. More often than not you've found a horse with enough ability to win races or is at least well handicapped enough to put wins on the board. As we all know, a horse you bet on can get no luck in running, be poorly ridden, the going changes against it, the pace of the race doesn't pan out or simply the horse has an off day.

Seething about Fleeting though. Got stopped and would have won imo.
Backed her on Arc day and of course I gave it "another chance" at Ascot....given 2 very underwhelming rides.
