Stradivarius and Battaash immediately spring to mind, the former devoid of Torcedor, and the latter encountering similar opposition on better terms; Blue Point was just a blip.

One heartbreaking cert for me this yr, I won't be making my annual trip down for the meeting.
Put a disc out in my back a few weeks ago, still bloody giving me probs. So it'll be the Ebor meeting at home this yr :-( |

I'm looking forward to Stradivarius strutting his stuff and collecting his £1m bonus on the way; Battaash to atone for last year. And Poets Word to put on a show against his younger protagonists. |

pity they dont seem to report on big bets in the ring as often as they used to
"two bets of 50000/60000 bataash" and you could lay away "certain" that the certainty was f@cked  fav backing mug thread imo and for the record blue point was no blip |

Be tight and I guess now the odds won't be insane as they were at Ascot. I'll lay the fav cos thats what I do but he could obviously win. To me Blue Point is a so called drop dead sprinter. 5f is as far as he goes. yet he puts up reasonable performances at 6f. "certainty" is for mugs

Yes certainty is for mugs, however odds on shots can certainly be value.

Two hotpots eg Poets Word and Cross Counter bit the dust today. Will Sea Of Class (tomorrow), Stradivarius and Battaash on friday do better?

sea of class looks quite beatable imo. only rated 4th by rp and plenty with live chances. 2.48 is way too short.

I agree I couldn't touch Sea of Class at that sort of price. I make Battaash more like a a 1/3 shot this time though

If I see a horse as a 1/3 chance then it should be pretty self explanatory that it wouldn't be a bet at that price

Well, 1/3 shots are expected to get beat 25% of the time, but that was a garbage run from the fav. That said, if 5/6 was available about a horse with similar form again I'm sure I'd go in again.
