Good, Good to Firm in places on the round course as at 14.41 today.  Here is a useful link.  Remember the course drains like a colander, thinnish layer of soil sitting on top of solid downland chalk. New clerk though and he will probably water tonight

redbag - I live an hour away, but the rain you mention is all rather irrelevant given the going report was issued mid afternoon today.

More rain than forecast overnight.  Now Good, Good to Soft in places in the straight.
