With the forecast very soft / heavy ground I can see the bookies out to get Might Bite. Easily see Native River and especially Our Duke becoming favourite. Might Bite could go off 5/1 +

Might Bite has never won on heavy, but Native river, Our Duke and Definitely Red have.

Could connections of Bristol De Mai be regretting for taking him out with the favoured ground a near certainty come next week? Would they supplement him?

On the Betfair preview they mentioned that Bristol was going to be supplemented but at last minute decided not too.

If so, BDM would have been a better proposition that the citizen from the land of President Trump.

With the ground on the very soft side and stamina a must Our Duke and Native River and both with an easy season so far could be the main beneficiaries. I think the former is a better jumper if the pace is quicker as he's tended to focus more, according to his trainer.

Amazed to see NR and MB joint favs on here yesterday. Only 0.3 between those 2 and Our Duke now.

The biggest doubt about Might Bite has to be his reaction to seeing the entrance to the paddock after the last but he will be a lot farther away on the new course so may not notice. My only bet at the moment is NR but Might Bite must be the value now.

Well it’s been a long wait but we are finally there tomorrow. I wouldn’t change Native for any other runner in the field with the rain coming in again tomorrow. No excuses...

If you joined in at double figure prices fingers crossed.

Good luck whatever you back

Yep, well done Hibore - great shout, good thread...

I did n't back NR but it looked like a really good renewal to me, did n't realize until I watched it back how fast Native River was over the obstacles, the front two jumped beautifully all the way around really - Might Bite does remind me of Coneygree a bit, got stilts for legs.

Don't think the ground made any difference to be honest, Native River just looks like one of those horses who would outstay anything from the last.

Fantastic horse race...

What an incredible horse race. Both Native and Might Bite served up a spectical yesterday reminding us why we love the game. A 16 runner race became a 2 horse race after two fences.

Thought both jockeys rode perfect races. Johnson was born to ride Native and his stamina was the edge in the end.

I’ve bored everyone going on about Native for the last 3 months...it’s nice to get it right once in a while.

Congrats.
Hugely satisfying when things work out; always far more than the money, I find, though I hope you're nicely enriched.
A classic Gold Cup; two marvellous principals and a race I suspect you may watch again for months to come.

2019 shaping up for a fantastic renewal. Clan, Percy and Native all could go off favourite depending on conditions.

I won’t desert Native and on all evidence must have a good chance to double up.

He could have his ground again. The forecast is for unsettled weather with plenty of rain, according to the BHA website; good ground at present on both the hurdle and chase course.

Still unappreciated and overlooked; the emphatic reigning champion yet available at 6/1 whereas the (pretender) beaten in non-novice company is 7/2,....crazy!!!!!
By:
impossible123
When: 09 Mar 19 14:39
A repeat of last year is looking increasingly likely given the weather forecast for next week; might have to do it the hard way again with Might Bite at the front, and Clan Des Obeaux tracking them in 3rd or 4th throughout.
By:
impossible123
When: 15 Mar 19 18:51
Again, ran his heart out after a poor start, but could be on the downgrade; Might Bite was a spent force 2 out, and eventually pulled-up. These two horses ran right to the line last renewal,...the race could have taken its toil on them.
