Aye Noc, last season I had a similar time around now, 7 horses beaten into 2nd when trading about 1.2 or lower in space of 11 bets I think.
Though in general, each season the avg odds of my selections increases which means a decrease in the strike rate. It makes the upside of the win bigger as its bigger odds yet tests the temperment more and for some reason the racing gods like long stagnant runs bookended with mega days with 3 or 4 winning as the theme of my seasons.  + 15.53 Bristol de Mai +8 Gardeford -1 Clondaw Cian -1 Royal Regatta -1 Champers on Ice -1 Silsol -1 Theos Charm +1.5 Henri Parry Morgan -1 Sizing Granite -0.5 season p/l +18.53 total staked 50 |

in the 2014-2015 season I had 128 bets at odds of 4/1 or lower. That's when we were discussing min odds.
2014-15 avg 8.4/1 2015-16 avg 10.1/1 2016-17 avg 12.3/1 2017-18 avg 15.1/1 (so far) Though I've moved on from the min odds idea, I treat odds more related to number of runners and type of race, ie handicap vs graded etc.. |

Thanks Pete, I actually bet him for it at 66's and 100's in March this year as well. I don't play the Novice Hurdlers heavily anyway, and can't be bothered second guessing the Supreme/Ballymore/AB options, so with Gigginstown having nothing obvious in the pipeline for this years renewal, I thought I'd have a swing at it, as he really did look a bit special last year. It's been very good to see him progress.
It'll be money wasted of course, but good to have something to look forward to when he runs. |
