Yuften was well punted in the Lincoln and ran no kind of race from a poor draw. He is only 5lbs higher than winning the Balmoral at Ascot in October and if the in form Roger Charlton's got him back to anywhere near his best mark (when with Johnny Murtagh) he would be very well in here and at a nice price.

Well dpne ZF backer but the draw bias ruining the big Royal Ascot handicaps again.

How far would Ballet Concerto have won on a level playing field.Cry
Report betilyerded June 21, 2017 6:28 PM BST
Youre right Uncle. Although I backed the winner it p****s me right off when the sheep - sorry, jockeys - all congregate to one side. Theres no way there should be a bias on good to firm ground, even if it has been watered.

Maybe its time to put a temporary double white line half way down the middle of the course, to say, the half way point in these big field/straight course handicaps.Until that point you stay in your side of the line and then go wherever you want to after that.

Ive been on the end of it myself and it ruins it as a spectacle and as a race and something has to be done.
Report PJay June 21, 2017 7:55 PM BST
There usually is a bias at Ascot on extreme goings. It's a shame as it does rule out a true race but you can't really blame the jockeys for trying to take advantage.
Report ReaseHeath June 21, 2017 8:00 PM BST
going stick readings (if they're worth anything!) suggest a stand side bias - be interesting to see if they change in the morning.
Report Facts June 22, 2017 10:23 AM BST
Certainly Fastnet Tempest should have finished a lot closer !!Sad Finished like a train !
Report SOULDANCER June 22, 2017 11:22 AM BST
Yes Facts if things had panned out better would certainly have at least placed. Mine had no chance drawn 1, but can't be sure it will be same for Britannia once watered.
Report unclepuncle June 22, 2017 5:29 PM BST
Clerk of the course has clearly over compensated with his watering and now the low numbers have the advantage.Cry
