Coronation Stakes 23rd June

While I wouldn't have backed any of them at the prices I actually thought Winter was a riskier proposition here than Churchill in the SJP. I don't go along with the talk that she improved at the Curragh but she didn't need to to win easily. She won the Guineas convincingly but it was quite a fast run race and even though appearing to do it easily she had to run almost as fast to win at the Curragh. These sort of races can take their toll and it's never easy to take in those two and head straight here. From a betting point of view the trouble is that even if there's a chance she's not quite at her best today it's difficult to get enthusiastic about the rest, so another race just to watch for me.
