Yes ,can't wait to see the same horses every other Saturday running in 5 furlong sprints  , especially love the ones where half the field drawn on the wrong side finish half a furlong behind.

Duffy,

Though I see what you are getting at, I think you picked the wrong race to be critical of...IMO, HR was o briens best 3yo of his generation, but due to his breeding, was sacrificed for better bred Coolmore horses of his era...much the same way Adelaide was for Australia.
Report twonky January 13, 2017 11:16 PM GMT
Ps, the king George no longer has the appeal that it once did
Report SEATHESTARS....NO1 January 14, 2017 10:51 AM GMT
Yeah can't wait to back that 'should have won' that got boxed in on the inside behind a wall of horses in that very unfair flat race

Same nags racing each other week in week out and wondering why racecourses still allow such massive draw bias's 'but it's fair and square'

YAWN

Unlike the clear at the last and falls..or what about brought down...or wait a minute, there is always the unseat...or there is sun so lets make it a flat race.

Galileo makes more in a month bonking at stud than Faugheen makes on the track. The flat is the sport of kings.
Report TheCollector January 14, 2017 10:57 AM GMT
Speaking of Faugheen, it's lovely to see him on the track along with Annie Power, Coneygree, Don Cossack and all the other stars. #raceoncethen****forayear

The National Hunt -

Starts in October with a load of bollocks till mid March then cram in 4 festivals in 6 weeks.

Clever thinking that.

Prefer the flat there's so many big races spread throughout the season. NH nowadays with the sport dominated by expensive purchases noone cares about anything but Cheltenham. Good horse no longer run in handicaps - races like the Hennessy and the Whitbread used to be real highlights.

AT - disagree. Plenty of good class competitive Handicaps, with excellent betting opportunities .
Report unclepuncle January 15, 2017 1:01 PM GMT
Like all of it but the jumps is much better for betting on imo.

The draw and luck in running plays such a huge part in flat races - even the top Grade 1's can be massively affected.
Report sixtwosix January 15, 2017 1:08 PM GMT
ya pie
Fair enough , an intellectual insult I simply cannot compete with .

Two weeks to go for the Flat follow quickly by the Classic trials - I cannot wait; Aintree and/or Punchestown are not my cup of tea.
Report the.mad.dog.man March 18, 2017 2:24 PM GMT
n/hunt is s..t now roll on the flat
Report lewisham ranger March 19, 2017 12:59 PM GMT
agreed. slow random racing over almost over, that's a relief. can focus on the quality product now.

think I've had about 3 winners since november Cry
Report sageform March 21, 2017 8:10 PM GMT
What is wrong with the flat racing on now? Southwell is a law unto itself but so is Pontefract on heavy ground. Kempton, Chelmsford and now Newcastle are attracting some nice horses and it is a seamless transition to grass these days.
