Might be getting a bit long in the tooth but has actually been running OK this year. The one time he got fast ground, big field and strong pace he travelled really well in the July Cup but met loads of trouble in running.
With fast ground looking assured, a large field to give him cover and a fast pace to aim at I reckon he could just do it again at his favourite venue.

1pt @ 20/1

If the ground is fast then Yalta is the one to be with.

The only negative is that Fanning will probably ride.

If I'm honest I was a bit disappointed to only get 20/1 on Sole Power - thought he might have been 33/1+. But I'm assuming Meccas Angel won't run if it's fast so there is little chance of his odds lengthening so I went in today.

I'd also assumed there was no chance of Limato running but the vibes suggest he is likely to be supplementedShocked - be fascinating but even as the horses biggest fan I will probably leave him unbacked.

Well despite Acapulco not being declared and Mecca's Angel likely to miss the race Sole Power has drfited right out - presumably because of the strength behind Limato.
Have had to go in again at 30.

Only possible fly in the ointment (other than simply not being good enough anymore) is that rain is forecast on Friday afternoon - just praying it doesn't reach the track until after the Nunthorpe.
Obviously if the rain falls in the hours leading up to the race the entire complexion of the race will change with Meccas Angel running and possibly Limato, Goldream and Sole Power pulling out.

Mecca's Angel is ground dependent and on the drift at the moment, but is rain not expected prior to and/or on race day? No decision, according to connections, until race day. It could all change.........

not a bad shout this punkle have been watching his progress, shame he isn't a bigger price but certainly think he can get in the money so best of luck with your wager

Indeed, light rain totalling about 5ml has been forecast from 10am to 8pm on friday. If so, could it alter the going significantly and/or change the betting market? No doubt time will tell.

Definitely looks like there will plenty of rain from about 1.00pm onwards which will scupper any faint hopes I had.CryCryCryCry

Of the outsiders I like the look of Pearl Secret and Cotai Glory. Silver Rainbow is said to be quietly fancied .

Meccas Angel's best form is enough to take her close today, she was back to her best last time but if I'm following a 5yo sprinter I prefer one that has improved and she hasn't in my view. Postponed may be the highest officially rated horse in Europe but my fastest rated is Limato, hopefully he remains in the same form as last time as the price is great value here.

What a run by Mecca's Angel even with Limato on her heels - absolutely marvellous! Her connections must have been almighty glad the rain came just in time otherwise, her participation might not have taken place.

Well done to all her backers.

Limato ran as well as I could've expected but it was poor on my part I'd underrated Meccas Angel a bit and she was very impressive. I'd say well done but surprisingly it looks like nobody put her up on here.

I think the ground was a major concern for most right up to the off. I only had £10 at 6/1 but laid off most because of the ground last week. But she won really well today, and in Ireland previously.

Well done all, and to connections for biting the bullet to run her today.
