Had my eye on this one for a sometime and spoke up for the trainer quite a while ago when he was slated on the other peasant racing forum where I don’t usually post things.

Normandy Barriere 3-y-o (21May12 b c) Rock Of Gibraltar (IRE) (9.0f) — Ma Paloma (FR) (Highest Honor (FR ) (10.4f)) he will get further as half-brother to Ruwi from Sangster family of Kanmary on the dam side, he was also very late foal. Nigel Tinkler’s handling of Sugarfoot, Satin Lover might be a while ago but you will get a chance to see how good he is from this horse who won comfortably off 56.
He was a progressive horse last year, gelded after his two wins and made an encouraging reappearance before winning cosily today. He won’t go up much for this and looks like he has plenty more payday’s ahead and likely plenty in hand even if reassessed in the mid 80’s after today’s performance coming from the family of Lit de Justice, Commander Collins and Colonal Collins. Bravo old school Nigel Tinkler.
Normandy Barriere is running off 85 today at Haydock over 6f and I think he is a steal and way above this class. There is six other last-time-out winners in what looks like a competitive field, and there seems to be some interest in Snap Shots because of Tom Dascombe and last-out course performance but he ain’t won for 2 years and has never won over 6f. Give us a break. Ridden again by the now massively in-form William Buick, who is down to his minimum weight. This horse has much more scope than the others and is a shoo-in.
Even with a penalty after today he is very unlikely to get in the Wokingham Stakes Handicap, as you would need to be rated in the late 90’s to get in these days. From what I have already stated on his breeding and given his style of racing; he will get 7f without a doubt, and I bet they have the 7f International Stakes Handicap over the straight course at Ascot in mind for this gelding at the end of July, during the heart of summer, moreover, horses rated 90 and 91 managed to sneak in at the bottom of that handicap in last year’s running because of the usual large-field. His age group has provided easily the biggest representation among the previous winners over the 10 years. It was his 4th birthday only just a few days ago.

No, backed him again in the 3:45 at York as he ran well over CD on good ground last year when 2nd to Udododontu, and that horse went on to be beaten a neck by War Envoy in the Britannia Stakes off an 11lb higher mark.
