Douvan to capture the Trainers' Championship and Vautour for prize money, and could be a pointer for next year's assignments; it is looking UDS is no longer in favour or dependable and has been overlooked - commiseration to his owners.
In my opinion Vautour will attempt to win the KG again this year but Champion Chase next year; Djakadam (Ryanair), Douvan (JLT), Killutagh Vic (Gold Cup), and the rest with several options eg BH, Outlander, etc. Yorkhill (GW) will be campaigned over hurdles with the Champion Hurdle as his target I'd imagine.

Douvan is not going for the Celebration Chase after all (UDS is) but the Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown with Vautour heading for the **** Champion Chase, both races over 2 miles.

Heard nothing: No mention of Vautour despite still entered for the Oaksey Chase over 22.75f; the going at Sandown could be the reason - it is currently is good to soft with rain forecast. Vautour is also odds-on and 5/1 with Paddy for the Champion Chase and Gold Cup respectively at Punchestown; Douvan 1/10 for the Ryanair there - the Oaksey Chase.
The choice of UDS over Douvan and Vautour could be due to the ground as UDS prefers softish ground.

Or Mullins wanting the easy pickings rather than pitch one of them against Sprinter Sacre. Don't think a bit of soft would bother either of them over 2 miles. What a shame as we know Sprinter's better than UDS as long as its not soft and running one of other two would have wonderful.

Ryanair - Douvan (1/7 with Paddy) Champion - Twinlight and Felix Yonger but no mention of Vautour (but 4/7 with Paddy) Growise - Outlnder, could be joined by RDF and/or Shaneshill (if not sticking to hurdles) Gold Cup - Djakadam, Don Poli and possibly Vautour (if bypassing Sandown)
As usual fun and games with multiple placements by WPM.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Un De Sceaux mops up the attractive prize money in France like he did in his early career. I'm sure Mullins could get his way with the owners leaving the path clear for Vautour/Douvan (depending which one will be campaigned for the Gold Cup) to be campaigned towards next years Champion Chase. That's what's been running through my mind recently anyway.
