Hi guys, I have put together a web page that displays the last 10 years 1, 2, 3 results for group 1 races
if anyone is interested. group1grade1 dotcom. If you click on the winners name it will take you to his
lifetime RP form, full result goes to RP race result and year/going goes to the RP results for the full
meeting on that day. It may be useful for people like myself that like to look at trends/stats/history/undercards etc.
I will probably add Irish, French, US and NH in time.

Hi all,
I have just added the Irish group 1 flat races.

Just added the German Group 1 races.
If anyone who speaks German could check that I haven't made any mistakes I would be grateful. The names of some of the races seem to change regularly and the RP list the Preis Der Diana as the German Derby quite often, but I believe it is the German Oaks (I could well be wrong though).

It is nice to have a source of information.
The problem with horses is getting information from data.  Of course collecting data takes much time.

I have a database of all Irish, UK, French, German, Italian Group 1, 2, 3 winners from 1900 to 2015 (or the races that preceded the pattern), and USA Grade 1, and the pedigrees of all winners.
I have tended to use ratings instead of group wins as a measure of ability.   Stallions are still advertised by group wins, and of course group wins of their progeny.  And sales catalogues still use black type.

Hi Kincsem, Impressed with your database. I'm trying to create at a glance pages for main races and meetings. I have trouble staying in one place with my betting, i'll bet on anything from group 1 to sellers. What seem like strong reasons or angles for a bet, seem very weak in hindsight (usually after they have lost). I make way too many bets, and I thought by focussing on group races, and how and where they run afterwards might be a better strategy. After all there are enough top races over the course of a year. I was thinking of looking at Ante Post as well (mainly laying).
By the way do you know of any European Group 1 races apart from England, France, Ireland, Germany and Italy? Thanks in advance.

I have not bothered with races outside the main European countries.  The Italian group races are weak and probably do not deserve their ratings.
Last year I did a bit of an experiment on boards.ie gambling forum (recreation & hobbies/gambling/logs) where I has a €4 bet on every Irish and English group race (missed a few when my broadband was down for over a week mid-season) and lost 19.8% overall.

I bet only a few times a year, and try to stick to big events e.g. €500 on Smylie Kaufman in the US Masters at about 440/1 recently, and that only because I was in profit €1k year to date, now €4k year to date (sold some of Kaufman).
In that thread about group races last year I learned a few things:  l lost 20 of 21 races at the start (form is meaningless early on, and ground soft/heavy); I lost 100% on Newbury group races (a galloping track, I must investigate).
The only laying I have profited on for a few years was laying horses to place in the Epsom Derby, but you need to know a lot about pedigree.  I mostly laid 4 or 5 to ensure some winners (only 3 can place).  I had to have a few grand to do that, and I mostly don't have a few grand.

My advice is to look for group races (or listed) at around 10f.  Look at the record of Toronado, and what happened when he went past 10f for the first time in his life (and Dawn Approach of course).  Look up the Equinome website for an explanation.

Cheers for that Kincsem

If you want to ask questions perhaps it is best you send me personal messages (see top right of screen).
I don't have any secrets, but I work hard so don't want to give away my little knowledge.
Much of what I have is opinion, or approaches to analysis / sources of data.

Thanks for that kincsem, I will probably have plenty of questions as I go along. For the moment i'm quite busy, whilst still trying to add to the webpage at the same time.
