I find it amazing the ammunition Mullins has that horses are winning with such ease that the gulf of class between Mullins is like he has the Ronaldo's and Messi's and English trainers have the Rooney's and Lampards. English horse racing feels like that at the moment, I think media are not asking that questions as to why English trainers are so behind one man... never imagined it be so bad..
Nicholls, Henderson, Pipe the big power houses should hold their heads down in shame as the standard of training has a lot to be desired. Take the first day of Chelt

Take the horses he has on the Four championship races: Faugheen, Un De Sceaux, Vroom Vroom Mag and a handful of Gold Cup hopes...!
Its now looking like a formidable list and that's just the first day... I know people see Mullins as a genius but not sure how or why our trainers can be so far behind...
If you are a favourite backer your in heaven but for those that look for value in these classiest races are going to be asking themselves that they're Cheltenham portfolios are up against one man ... and at the moment it looks likely that he will prevail...
But cant help thinking the decline of English trainers when a person can hand pick a decent set of horses and be Even money for the trainers championship - now that's a serious joke,
My message to English trainers is to reflect on what is happening or just be resigned on picking the pennies that should drop from Mullins pockets during the Cheltenham festival.

Well, a little Dorset trainer is likely to have two horses showing their backsides at anything Mullins has got on two of the feature races. Vatour had a good look at one on Boxing day; Annie or Mag better get ready to look at another on Festival Thursday. If they are allowed to compete in a proper race that is.

What's this all about Iris? You're not saying Mullins is a better trainer than many others on both sides of the Irish Sea are you? And you're not suggesting those trainers don't know where they're going wrong are you?
It's plainly obvious. Mullins has the clients with the deepest pockets. It's not even about talent spotting. There's plenty out there that know what they want to buy..but when Team Willie come in 100K over the top there's not a lot you can do about it mate.
I never thought I'd be thankful for Mr Ryanair but he's one of very few capable of putting up a fight atm. Seriously rich men like Stewart, Hales, Buckley and Munir are being blown out of the water.

No matter what you pay for a horse you still have to bring it to the game - and they do very consistently... flat racing we have seen it time and time again and they don't even have obstacles? But if you take the Mullins factor out their has been a serious decline of the standard that comes from the English trainers, yes they are doing something seriously wrong especially this season.
On a big Saturday money race - Nicholls horses you could take comfortably take off your list, it seems he cant decide whether some of his horses are chasers or hurdlers, Henderson doesn't have as many horses to fear either, even his very best are no longer formidable and are plagued by injuries... and don't even get me started with Pipe ... who id his flagship horse this season?

It's fair to say Mr Nicholls is having a trying time both on and off course...but I do think some of the threads on here about 'terminal decline' are way...WAY..over the top. Henderson has had his spells in the doldrums, virtually every trainer has. Even Ballydoyle has had quite years with the cream of European bloodstock at their disposal. Nicholls will be back.
Was it not Engelhard who said Vincent O'Brien's greatest skill was finding a continual flow of rich investors.

Much better day for the Brits yesterday suggesting Willie might not hoover up the lot without opposition.

Yes he has some very good horses but what about Cue Card, Smad Place, Yanworth, Thistlecrack, Sire De Grugy, Sprinter Sacre, Ar Mad, Sceau Royal, Shantou Village,all very very good horses. I think maybe Mullins fever springs to mind. Last week he was nailed on to win British trainers title, bubble burst Saturday tho LOL
Where in my post did i say (Saturday last decided the trainers title.)? I did`nt, but i dont think he will.
Tim6, Hardly crumbs. Half of the feature races are headed to Dorset, not Mullins. Neptune and Albert Bartlett look like they are staying here too. I guess Mullins might win the Mares unless he allows his best horses to compete in proper races.
Nice to see Nichols win the jump trainers title... glad title still on these shores.
