I have to say this is the most ludicrous racing decision this year... This horse has been aimed for the Arc, won his trial 2 seconds faster than TREVE... and a King George winner too... meets most trends in terms of age and distance and clearly the diamond in the yard... and decide to go to Ascot....? No disrespect to Roger Varian but Im sure he would have been a bit cross eyed with that decision.
I am not a trainer... or a owner... but this owner shows a total lack of racing judgement. For me the ARC is the most prestigious race outside the Derby and they swerve it with only one horse to beat ... Not sure want went on with Luca but when you see that decision its obvious owner knows only how to spend money on horses and not able to pick the right race... should leave that to the trainer... don't think he even realises you get more money getting 3rd in the Arc than being 2nd in the Champion Stakes...
Agree Iris. A ridiculous decision. I was staggered by today's news but after Luca lost Postponed and the rest of Sheikh Obaid's horses, maybe it's not so staggering. I had Postponed matched at an average of 53 for the win 10.3 to place. It's been one of those Flat seasons. I am just waiting for Jack Hobbs to be pulled out of the Arc to complete my AP misery

Anything else running in the Arc this year, apart from the mare, is racing for second - they know this, and the possibility of winning a Group 1 10f race (especially when conditions may well suit), would not have escaped connections minds when thinking about stud value...

Not sure Treve is a cert ... as you make out.. has had a very careful preparation this year.. hasn't raced horses as the same calibre as The Fugue, or Cirrus etc..
