Would have been. Two Rockers a non-runner I see. Shame, I was looking forward to seeing him. Mossey Joe could be interesting if rediscovering his old form. Former Champion Hunter Chase Mossey Joe has been retired according to trainer Enda Bolger. |

Well a decent soaking was the only reward for my endeavors today. Needed a push to escape a muddy field at the end too.
Four-timer for Biddick/Barber and I managed five seconds and a third. Seems that No Loose Change picked up an easy win at Fontwell. That was a disappointing performance from Mossey Joe yesterday, so perhaps retirement is what he deserves. Just starting to dry out now... |

Some decent looking hunter chases this week. Two at Leicester tomorrow, Wincanton Wednesday and Tauton & Ludlow Thurday.

PALYPSO DE CREEK looks a stand out in the 3.20 Leicester..
in the 4.20, PORT GOLAN looks all over a stayer and should be suited to the conditions more than Woodview Prince who could struggle on the ground.. The only doubt about PG is the lay off.. |

Palypso is the most likely winner, but 2.3 is plenty short enough against a decent field and his last race is difficult to weigh up accurately. Might have a look later and see if I can find some ew value on one of the less fancied horses.
Difficult to separate Port Golan and Woodview Prince in my book - and neither can the market, so probably no play. good luck if your playing |

Coombe Hill to place at 2.7 ish looks reasonable value to me for a horse in good form and likely to enjoy conditions.

Good win for Palypso and given a good ride. Much better from Foundary Square in second.
Coombe Hill finished a tired 4th. Seemed like a good pace throughout. Mobaasher ran another decent race following his recent slog in the mud. |

2nd race at Leicester and have a small amount on Port Melon 2.80 ish, who should have improvement in him but does have a fitness doubt.

Port Golan disappointing, never looked comfortable, low head carriage and pulled up. Not much else for Woodview Prince to beat, but he did so well enough. Back to ploughing through the weekend points entries. |

will be interesting to see how sweet my lord runs, massive step up in grade after bolting up in confineds, but they obv think lot of him.

Went to Wincanton today. Surprised to see Big Fella Thanks at evens money so had some more on. Very confident ride by Will Biddick, but he had a lot of horse underneath him. Garstin didn't jump with any confidence first time over fences, which is a shame as he's one of my favourite young pointers - so hope he overcomes that experience.

the horse is perfectly fine today koi ... they have looked and discussed this with jockey lots of times ,,, there is no explanation ... ive seen mighty moss do this in rutland point but thankfully it consented to run on and win ... im sure yr aware theres a decent pointer in the 4.50 trained by kim bailey ... it shouldnt have run on the bog last time and must go very close today .. if its as good as they think .any thoughts ...

Had intended to visit Bishops Court today, but put off by the weather, especially as it's a long drive. Looks like a decent days racing based on the early results. Going to be busy tomorrow, so will have to wait until next weekend for my fix. Might take a good look at the foxhunters as the entries are out now, although need one eye on the weather forecast.

ground was very testing , hard going for a lot of horses today.
winner finished alone in the first ( 4 Runners) 2 p/u at the last. the mythologist won the mixed open. maiden was split, had a bit of luck in div 2, the front 2 were well clear, one ran out and took other with him, left mine to finish 3rd (e/w bet) had one winner. not the best racing but good day. |

Good to see The Mythologist back to winning ways in an open after his blip at Larkhill. See that Mr Mercurial won an open at Horseheath too.
Hunter chases at Catterick on Wed and Leicester on Fri. Missed Major Malarky winning at Kelso on Saturday, which is annoying as it looked like a penalty kick on paper. A bumper 45 entered for the foxhunters at present, but as only 24 will be allowed to line up, I'll probably wait for the 5 day decs before getting involved again (already have a bit of 7/1 on Paint The Clouds). |

Hunter Chase at Catterick today, but I haven't much insight. Leicester Friday and Warick Sunday could of more interest.
Shame Wincanton is abandoned tomorrow as I had free tickets. Cheltenham next week and that's pure indulgence. |

Their for is about the same, but Cave Hunter seems one paced to me, where as Sportingfriendship really stays and looks a proper battler..
I prefer SFS to cave Hunter. |

A two mile hunter chase at Leicester coming up soon. Looks to be between the first four in the market but wouldn't like to say which, although I have doubts about Popaway. Will watch anyway.

Warwick Hunter, CHIQUILLINE looks a big price, finished 4th beaten only 6L last time on its seasonal debut (Mens Open (Coronation Gold Cup)... 1st 2nd 3rd and 5th would win this Hunter imo.

Put up Can Mestret, last time out, and was very impressive. Wasnt going to have another bet before Cheltenham, but may be tempted by this one. Any thoughts?

The other fancied one in that race was PU and put down, .. it really had nothing to beat and the form not very strong at all...

Yes, the form didn't amount much, but I just thought it was visually impressive and Gina's post race comments suggested they thought quite a bit of him. Will have a proper look tomorrow.

Went to Charlton Horethorne today. First time I've been to a point to find Hunt Sabs protesting.
Another treble for Biddick/Barber. Mixed fortunes betting wise, but only one surprise in a 25/1 winner of the ladies race. Couple of decent looking races at Stratford tomorrow and Towcester on Thursday. And the big one at Cheltenham of course. Will take a closer look at that now. Already have a small interest in Paint The Clouds at 7/1, but will look for a few more to back/oppose. |

He was and I backed both. Seemed to have a lot of horse on Foynes Island and appeared to jump three out OK but stumbled on landing. I was still smarting after Minella Fifty's second in the ladies, having looked the winner four out.
