1. Was he not subject of a very significant drift?
2  Why would Coolmore sell half share of a Derby winner?

The vibes weren't good from connections leading up to the race and he did drift like a barge. Hold up horses were having no joy on the Tapeta yesterday, so I probably wouldn't judge him on that performance yesterday.

Very odd they sold a half share, maybe the two teams will be doing a lot more business together over the next few years. Money talks and I suppose that's what Coolmore are all about.

If Coolmore really want to win the World Cup they really need to change how they prep a horse for the race, it doesn't work how they do it coming in cold. Their record in the race is not good at all.

Personally I've had my reservations about ROW's ability last year and I wouldn't be a backing him anytime soon.

They sold half shares in Cape Blanco and Fame & Glory before they went on and won more Group 1s, Roo. Not sure why they do it but it's been done before.

I didn't see the race yesterday but from what I read he never travelled at any stage. I think he drifted because he was a false favourite anyway, 2f short of his best distance, bad draw, no prep, unproven on surface. Probably worth forgiving him the run as i'd be surprised if Coolmore sold the arab fella a dud?

Yes they have sint, but neither are going to rise the stallion ranks like top notchers are they? And that's my point.

Ruler of the World is a Derby winner and would have huge potential commercial value if he was to become a multiple Group 1 winner this term. Coolmore don't throw money away.

We'll have to see how it pans out Roo. I think his run yesterday can be forgiven and it's worth remembering this time last season he was unraced so should still be open to improvement. In terms of seasonal debuts, a maiden vs the Dubai WC could not be any different. I'm just undecided whether to include him in my TTF list this season.

Just could not have him winning yest on that surface over 10f.
Should have been aimed at the Sheema Classic over 1m4f on turf.
His form shows that he prefers some cut in the ground to show his best & over 10f he would want it very soft imo, like was the case in last years Champion Stks.

Tend to agree. AOB was on ATR and think he never handled the track. When asked to quicken he couldn't manage it. Could be prepared for the Coronation Cup next.

His lack of 2yo form is a massive drawback commercially and there are plenty of sons of Galileo floating about at stud. He is also a half-brother to Duke of Marmalade who hasn't been getting 2yos. I think he wants a well run 10f with a bit of ease in the ground and could see him going very well again in the Champion Stakes which I think they should build his season around.

Personally at this stage I just don't think he is going to cut it at the top level, especially at 10F. He won a a weak Derby and whilst he may not have handled the track, it was a ready made excuse and he was beaten by some very ordinary horses for this level.

Haven't really had a look at what else has stayed in training, but Coronation Cup would be the logical next step. Wouldn't surprise me if he had been retired well before the Champion Stakes however

Would not be so quick to write ROTW off after a poor effort in Maydan imo.
Plenty gd horses don't go well over their & the form of the "tapeta" races has to be gaged with care imo.

So You Think was beaten over there before coming back and winning at Royal Ascot and then the Eclipse. AOB does run some of his best out there regardless of conditions.

I'd be utterly gobsmacked if ROTW won PoW and Eclipse. Simply don't think he is anywhere near the level of SYT.

Of course he is better than he showed the other day - we will see how much better. Though I said it wouldn't surprise me if was retired early, it also wouldn't surprise me if he won the Coronation Cup by 6 lengths! Who knows with AOB? I'm fairly sure he ain't a 10F horse though.

Oh yeah so am I. He deffo needs 12f not 10f. The way he finished his trial run in France before the Arc says he definitely needs 12f. 10f is just an attempt for the breeeding CV like they tried and failed with many times with SNA.

I agree with Roo on this one, the 3yr old middle distance colts last year were nothing special, a bit like the ones the previous year.
