Thoughts on this one lads?

Lucky horses don't have CVs that include 3 Grade1s and a gutsy Festival win imo

Obviously has to improve upon the win last time out but I was really impressed with him that day....showed he wasn't one dimensional....dropped in and quickened up nicely to hunt up the leaders and then sustain his run all the way to the line.

Think there could be more to come and he can really handle the hill as he showed in the Jewson....looked beat then re rallied once they hit the rising ground.

My thinking is at the current price...10/1 non runner no bet he represents a bit of value.

Get protection if Tony decides on a different target but with doubts about the front two in the market I think it might be worth it. I say doubts....we know SS and SDG are better than him but the former has a dodgy ticker and who knows if that might resurface (could even miss the race)...even if he did show up I'd be worry backing him without much of a proper preparation going into his title defence....and SDG....well is Cheltenham his track? got beat there already this season and the trainer (as much as he believes in the horse) did admit earlier the season that SDG needs to race on a flat track to be at his very best....also got to factor the possibility that he might be a shade over the top at Cheltenham....

Think even if those two show up Benefficient should still have a decent enough chance of an upset.

He won the Jewson over 2m 4f last year staying on up the hill, in the soft. He'll run in the Ryanair surely. That's where I've backed him.

Cue Card Gold Cup bound, SDG and/or SS in the Queen Mother......opens the Ryanair up nicely for him I hope???

Tony Martin said they'll be dodging Sprinter Sacre.

I had my eye on him for QM if SS fails to make it but seeing how SDG smashed Hidden Cyclone it has put me off.

Backed him e/w for the QM on the assumption SS doesn't turn up or his heart problems surface again.

Thanks guys....well I took the bet eachway NRNB just in case the market turns on it's head....you never know. also trusting that Tony will make the right decision...if he goes for the RyanAir then no harm done.

I'll back him wherever he runs purely because I'd love to see chaotic scenes in the winner's enclosure from his two owners.
