Going to have a crack at these races and hopefully pick a few winners along the way. Will cover around 25 races and maximum points staked per race will be 5. Should be staking approx. 100pts over the season. Don't expect a 90% strike rate but come next April will hopefully be showing a profit over the season. Race 1 will be the PP this Saturday.
A fair few of the field like to either set the pace or race prominently so although it's not going to be a mud slog i feel stamina will play it's part. CHAMPION COURT will like the ground and i can see him running a sound race but i feel 1 or 2 are better handicapped than him. RAJHANI EXPRESS normally needs a run and the jockey is a big minus for me - good dentist though. On the face of it this seems a strange race for BATTLE GROUP to take part in.Although 3m over hurdles is more his come of tea if he is fit for this and doesn't get outpaced he will be staying on strongly . The connections of TAP NIGHT are taking a familiar route with TAP NIGHT .2nd at Carlisle and looks reasonably handicapped and McCoy an obvious plus. BALLYNAGOUR is the enigma in the race for me. Very impressive at Warwick before going out like a light at Cheltenham. Would prefer softer going and although connections respected in this race i will pass him over. Last year's 3rd NADIYA DE LA VEGA still looks well handicapped to me despite winning a good race in Ireland last season. She is a little unpredictable but if in the mood could go well again.

A very good turnout with a mix of promising youngsters and older handicappers. TRUSTAN TIMES took this last year and after a nice blow out at Wetherby is respected . A combination of a higher mark and others better handicapped may prove too much this time around. TWO ROCKERS is a c-d winner and did nothing wrong last season. Ran ok at Cheltenham on final start and looks to have more to offer this season. MASTER OF THE SEA is 4 from 11 and is another who could prove dangerous even off this mark. GENREY CHAMBERLIN started off well last season before blowing out at Cheltenham and Aintree.Connections respected but not sure if he is off a winning mark for this. GUILINBURSTI comes here with trainer flying. Easy victory last time out and another you couldn't rule out in a wide open contest. ELY BROWN is another to consider . 7LB claimer on board but overall profile not quite convincing to me. The Reveley pair CROWNING JEWEL and NIGHT IN MILAN warrant respect .The former is pretty consistent and looks to hold a fair e/w chance whilst NIGHT IN MILAN at the foot of the handicap with B. Hughes in the saddle also looks one to watch out for. Blinkers on today and 10-3 to carry on this soft ground.

JOHN'S SPIRIT goes for an unique early season treble here and it's just a question of when the handicapper catches up with him. Still may have a bit in hand though. COLOUR SQUADRON takes him on again but i have this one down as a rouge. Makes mistakes when under pressure and hangs on the run in. I've a feeling a will still be a maiden chaser come the end of the season. SALUT FLO was on my short list for the PP . I think he is fairly handicapped and should go well. GRANDIOSO is strongly fancied by Nicholls and after a good run first time out is very much respected.

Soft going and probably heavy by post time so it makes sense to focus on those runners than can act under those conditions. PTIT ZIG carries top weight and although lightly raced and shown some good form you have to think that this is a tough ask on this going. ROLLING STAR won first time out at Haydock and connections obviously respected but again the weight on this going is a big negative for me. CHATTERBOX may just have needed the run last time out at Newbury and with ground conditions not a problem is very much respected . CHRIS PEA GREEN will love the going and the William Hill hurdle form over this c&d gives him a chance. PINE CREEK travels well and as form on soft going .Had a troubled passage at Cheltenham and could well bounce back here. DELL' ARCA won the Greatwood in brave fashion and should go well here. Near the foot of the h'cap TOTALIZE who is fit from the flat and has been well supported in the market catches the eye.
