Do Brits need a passport, please?

I'd advise you to get the 'F' to the 'L'. Once there, take a short boat trip to the 'I' mate, before getting either the 'N' or the 'T' towards the 'S'. Say 'HI' to the guy standing beside the 'R', which is 300 yards from the 'E'.

Bazz - apparently it's easy to get there without a passport, but a lot harder to get back. My advice is to take one.

Metro to Porte Maillot, catch one of the free buses to the course from there.  Alternatively, Longchamp is about a 30 minute walk through Bois Du Boulogne from the station at Porte Dauphine.  Never bothered using Tote windows, just take your phone.

Kingmambo has correctly mentioned directions (you can also take a metro to Porte d'Auteuil. No problems at tote windows regarding language, most of the tellers know limited English, although i've never played a forecast. 8 euros entry on the Sunday (unless you want reserved seating), but go on the Saturday as well. Normally a good card, less crowds and reduced admission (as if that should matter anyway).

Just how far is the walk from Porte d'Auteuil? I am going to the Arc this year having previously been the year Sinndar won. I seem to remember it was only about 15mins, google maps is saying about 40mins! I also take it you can still pay at the gate to get in? Any other useful tips for the day appreciatedHappy

SR, you can get the free bus from Porte d'Auteuil (they actually run from several locations). Look for 'Navette'. If you want to walk to the course, it would be nearer 30 mins than 15. Yes, you can pay on the gate and females wearing a hat get in free. It gets crowded on the ground floor, so if you're going with friends, arrive early to get some of the free seating on the first floor and take it in turns to place bets etc. You can also reserve seats in several areas. Horse-racing abroad also have their own area. It looks a good Arc field this year.
