I think this horse is a big price at 20/1 ... his neck second to Jwala surely will give the horse some form boost considering Jwala went on to win a Group 1.  I dont think that win was a fluke and feel Heerat has the necessary improvements to frank the form.  Seems like a horse on the upgrade, and if it rains conditions will suit the horse.

The favourite is a solid Group 1 performer so is probably the horse to beat but cant hve the 5/2 for a 16 runner race...

Good Luck

Backing this one myself, Iris. I think Lethal Force is a cracking sprinter and he did me a favour in the July Cup but I'll have to desert him again here. His run against Moonlight Cloud might look ok but I have him running 8lbs below his best that day. Whether he can bounce back to form here I don't know, if he does he wins, but I'm not interested in taking 5/2 to find out, he was double that before the July Cup. Heeraat stands out massively at the prices. I have his latest run as a career best, 5lbs behind Lethal Force but narrowly better than anything else in the race. A big plus is he's the only one that comes here on the back of a peak effort.  There's a possibility of him getting involved in an early pace battle but you'd hope connections are already wise to that. Ground isn't an issue and even if Lethal Force does come back to his best Heeraat will still be hard to keep out of the frame.

I agree he's no 20/1 shot. Especially looking at some of those ahead of him in the market. Believe 6f is his best trip too.

Clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright said: “We’re expecting 10-15mm of rain [tomorrow] and there's no escaping it.”

Garswood.............

If you look at the Nunthorpe thread Iris I made a case for Heerat only for it to be a non runner. Jwala obviously franked the form but the big problem is its going to rain and rain heavily which might not suit Heerat. No doubt an improving sprinter though and wouldn't be shocked to see it win a group 1 next year.

when the ground is softish at haydock the stands rail is usually favoured and with the fav (and standout form pick) drawn one it throws the race open. I think Garswood is very interesting with cut in the ground and im told Ryan Moore was very, very impressed with the horse at Goodwood.

I like Garswood and have been waiting for his next outing, as I thought his win last time was even better than it appeared, the early pace was slow and I reckon he'd have been more impressive off a faster pace. I think this is the wrong race for him, though, and doubt he'll have the pace to compete with some of the older sprinters on these terms, could be wrong though.

I also like Heeraat e/w. Main fancy for the race other than the fav with the rain is Slade Power. 8s or 9s is fair now Ra is out

Not my kind of race for betting much £££ on (sprinters) but Garswood would have a shout on soft ground as he gets 7f well & looks a classy 3yo with more to come.
Lethal Force is the class act of the race, but will he be as gd on whats likely to be very soft ground by 2moro. Gd luck with your bets lads. Cool

Of the outsiders Intense Pink is interesting.
If you forget her last run she looks to be on the up,will relish the conditions and is a price to suit the each way punter.

Heeraat looked spent a long way out and was disappointing, as were a few others on the day. Still, he wouldn't have beaten GLB even at his best, whose been running well all season on unfavoured ground. I don't rate the winning perormance as high as Legal Force at his peak but it was still a career best effort and he'll be hard to beat again on slow ground.

*ffs Lethal Force
