Had a bit on De Rigueur. Fits all the dreaded stats and Botti said it definitely goes for it.
By:
backed Biographer and Montaser, although they look likely Royal Ascot types
By:
think biographer runs at York on friday
By:
thanks, quite keen on it this year. Two weeks reasonable recovery time before Newcastle
By:
Biographer has been pulled from York on Friday, but Montaser is still in that race. 3.05 14F Class 2.
By:
tiger cliff would be an appropriate winner.
By:
In what way?
By:
as it was trained by Sir Henry Cecil ( now lady )
By:
So what? Could say that about every race one of her horses runs in from now on! No disrespect, but it would be more fitting if she bagged at Ascot.
By:
Good win for Montaser on Friday, but up 5lb to 101. Same as Ile de Re last year, but still higher than the prev 10 winners. A big ask.
By:
looks as though tiger cliff runs at r/a
By:
what about Biographer? I am following over a cliff this year
Gold Cup/ Irish Leger? |
By:
Biographer entered in Gold cup and the Hardwicke. Royal Ascot and Plate is still do-able (Som Tala and Juniper Girl in recent years).
By:
Biographer withdrawn from GC today is interesting, but presume it was the ground, then would be worried about good to firm next week if they leave it in the plate. Better ground, and some monstrous stats to overcome, but has class.
By:
Bookies still hot on Tiger Cliff despite running at RA. Both that and Montaser have some dreaded stats to overcome. Still hot on De Rigueur and Handsome Man myself.
By:
The fact that Biographer was planned to run in the Gold Cup is both encouraging/discouraging.Encouraging that they felt it good enough, discouraging that it gives the feeling of not being targetted at the Plate.Looks like the ground could be going his way.Notice that judorick is very keen-good omen after York Glory yesterday.
By:
might be bit rain towards end of week.
By:
de rigeur n/r
By:
well step 1 as been completed, biographer as made the entry stage.
david lanigan as stated the horse will be better on good to fast ground(not to sure about that). |
By:
whats max field ?
By:
i would say 20 mm.
By:
ok cheers, do like look of ardlui , fails on days stat but think he would have ran at ascot given more suitable ground.
By:
yes ardlui another horse who would not want the ground to fast.
must admit, would be disappointed if biographer could not give him 5lb,but it's all about opinions. |
By:
my (long short list) in order of preference is:
mubaraza +10 biographer +9 tiger cliff +9 sun central +8 lieutenant miller +8 ardlui+7 noble alan +7 northside prince +7 and Apache who I have recorded ??? which means he could spring a shock for my analysis much depends on pace profile and the Ascot Stakes was run at a crawl, if I could be certain of a proper gallop then Mubaraza and Biographer would be my two against the field |
By:
What's the story as regards the long odds for TIGER CLIFF, is he doubtful?
By:
ground looks to be a problem according to rp, reported as doubtful .
By:
Kazlian NR
By:
Was the fecker ever going to run after Ascot? Stats awful ground too fast feck me and Miller in at the bottom possibly.
By:
D'OH and what's that about I had a fecking dream? Indeedy.
By:
Fahey been on ATR today saying Address Unknown defo runs, Challoner taking 5lb off. So why still 40s on here???
By:
Thanks MORPETH.

Homeric is set to bypass the John Smith's Northumberland Plate at Newcastle as connections are keen to give him more time to recover from his Royal Ascot exertions.
The four-year-old, who runs in the Highclere Thoroughbred Racing colours, was beaten just under seven lengths when seventh behind Well Sharp in the two-and-a-half-mile Ascot Stakes. He was left in the five-day entries for Saturday's two-mile heat by trainer Ed Dunlop, but Highclere racing manager Harry Herbert reports him an unlikely runner. He said: "He doesn't run. It just comes a bit quicker than ideal for him after Royal Ascot and the ground is fast up there. We'll just find another spot for him. "We would have loved the Ascot race to have been run faster as they went a fairly slow pace and he got a bit stuck before running on and he wasn't beaten that far. "He's a horse that's had very little racing and there's more to come." Homeric had been a general 14-1 shot for the Northumberland Plate, with Montaser now heading the betting after Tiger Cliff was ruled out on Tuesday. |

Homeric had been a general 14-1 shot for the Northumberland Plate, with Montaser now heading the betting after Tiger Cliff was ruled out on Tuesday. Whereas Homeric and Biographer have indeed been taken out of the betting. Tiger Cliff still remains firmly ensconsed as Fav. |

rain forecast tomorrow

By:
Any rain that does come (more likely Friday than tomorrow) will not change it from GF. They wouldn't water if they expected a deluge. Expect more defections!

By:
So if they did expect a deluge, they'd still water? I'm not saying it won't rain. I'm detailing their reason for watering. Different.

disappointed lanigan is pulling out biographer so early, looks to me he never had any intention of running.
you would have thought he could have waited until saturday morning and then decided. |
