Moonlight Cloud is likely to be campaigned predominantly over a mile this season, rather than six furlongs, making another bid for the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot unlikely.
Freddie Head's mare nearly caused a huge shock at Royal Ascot last year when she closed to within an head of the recently-retired Black Caviar.
While an attempt to win a third Prix Maurice de Gheest over six and a half furlongs is on the cards in August, the rest of her campaign is likely to be over a mile, despite her disappointing display over that distance at the Breeders' Cup.
She did win the Prix du Moulin previously, backing up Head's claims that she stays the distance.
"I've put her in the Diamond Jubilee again but I don't think she'll go," said Head.
"Obviously there's no Black Caviar this year, but I'm looking at campaigning her over a mile this season, rather than six furlongs, although one of her main aims will be to win another Prix Maurice de Gheest.
"She's very well at the moment but I'm not sure where she'll start off yet. I think she gets the mile well and that's what we'll be looking at."

Thanks JOCI, can't agree with trainer, jockey lost the Jubilee moved from stall 15 to inside of BLACK CAVIAR and only lost by a head or neck, must have given about 1 1/2 lengths away moving position rather than staying straight, which would have been a requirement in his native FRANCE. Thierry cannot ride Ascot.
