What's wrong with playing to your strengths in life? Straight track, pacemaker, strong pace, grind 'em into the ground. Therefore:
Irish Guineas (straight enough): wins 5 lengths
Marois: wins 5 lengths
QE2: wins 5 lengths

Does anyone else slightly suspect (oh the fear of subsequent derision) that he might not be as effective around a bend? I'm sure he'd still win the St James' Palace, so much does he find under pressure, but perhaps not as resoundingly?

Does anyone else harbour the slightest suspicion that he has absolutely no chance whatsoever around Epsom, that he's a sustained-pace grinder, an uber-sprinter, a poor man's Frankel, a rich man's Haafhd?

Plotting a campaign the 'please don't mess up my derby bets' way ?

I think it will take a very good one to beat him at Epsom tbh.
Report sintonian May 6, 2013 11:16 AM BST
People questioned whether Newmarket would be his track. He has now won there twice.
Report judorick May 6, 2013 1:06 PM BST
campaign him like a good horse, in the old fashioned way and don't run scared of getting beat

Derby next which then opens the door to all other races

I would go Derby, King George (or Eclipse), Juddmonte International, Arc or Champion Stakes

King George AND Eclipse. Why be a coward?
Report judorick May 7, 2013 3:36 PM BST
just the issue of recovery time

it will be some feat to get him to peak 4 times let alone 5

These horses are mollycoddled. Wiggo just kept on going last season - him and the bike.
Report judorick May 7, 2013 7:21 PM BST
2000 gns, Derby, KG, Juddmonte and Arc would not be mollycoddling

He'll be taking the STS route gent's. 2000gns, Derby, Eclipse, Irish Champion, Arc. Not a fear of a Breeders Cup but may well be kept in training for Dubai next year.

He's no Derby horse and Jim knows it IMO

He pointedly stated that Sheikh Mohammed was steering him towards Epsom.

Lay all day for me at Epsom at anything below 3's on here....the camber will find him out, doesn't look the most balanced horse imo.

Only time will tell..

DA is a short-price for one who doesn't fit the pace profile of previous Gns/Derby winners but does fit the profile of Gns/Derby losers.
Report sean rua May 12, 2013 8:30 PM BST
I'm with those who think DA will not win the Derby. However, I'm renowned for my selections coming 2nd and 3rd.Plain

The key for me is whether the sheikh turns up at Epsom. I have read on here that he will not be there this year.
If that is true, i take it as a negative, as I would expect him to really want to win this race.

We'll see.
