if flemenstar is a non stayer and faces testing ground
and sir des champs now has to face more testing ground which does not
help his jumping
then
with tidal bay out and no first lieutenant
you'd think that it was a shoe in
but they didnt win last time
and the conditions do not look easier.

4/1 ON the pair.
not for me...

I can't see any reason why SDC should beat Flemenstar

bog warrior has beaten flemenstar over fences could win if jumps proprerly;
and if gets into a rhythm he can.
flemenstar should have won last time . either dogged it or didnt stay
sir des champs runs as though better ground suits.
the rest are good horses that should handle the conditions.

the faves  have better form (pounds not stones).
but if its a slog with emphasis on accurate jumping as well...
i'm inclined to price the faves up as 70%, coupled with heavy ground forecast
and several possible pace setters.

is BW a definite runner then? Listening to Davy Russell after his last win he seemed pretty sure the World Hurdle was next as the horse does not like jumping fences.

personally i think bog warrior is in two minds when he jumps
but my word he can leap!
i think he may not run but its a lot of prize money
and he's won when complteting bar the end of last season
which was very bad.
cheltenham on likely good ground or here?
think they will chance it coming here one more time
because he's built for chasing and deep ground.
school him and send him chasing again
i think they have to bite the bullet with him
school him over fences and take him chasing again.
not going to win a stayers hurdle is he really.
bog horse innit.

Hope the ground dries out a bit come Sunday.
Cant have Flemenstar as a Gold Cup horse, looked a non-stayer to me last time, out on his feet in the last 100yds. Looks the best 2m4f horse in training tho.

Sounds promising for better ground, fingers X.
And i think Leopardstown dries up well.
Fingers X for some g/s come Sunday.
For Sir Des Champs, that would be ideal, along with a gd pace all the way.
He is the only Gold Cup horse in that field imo.

trainer has stated that flemenstar would prefer NOT to have
bad ground. ie wants nice jumping ground or wet.
however much wind there is, i think it will still be winter ground
that will take some getting through.
anyway i'm talking it up!
as i think that is key to opposing the two faves.

Evening all , I still think Flemenstar will win and agree with bluebird I see no reason why SDC will overcome him this time . I also think Quito DLR will run well , good luck all whatever you bet .

Flemenstar will lead,a clear round for SDC will see him power past flemenstar

No QDLR , so Flemenstar will be my only bet , good luck all

just a statistic for you, in the last 12 times Mullins has entered the hennessey, he was won it with one of his horses on 8 of those occasions. i think the distance will suit sir des champs better on the day and will be backing accordingly.

This one has really got me torn. Have backed both at bigger prices for she GC, but prob left it too late to have a sensible bet on either in the Hennessy.  Big flemenstar fan, but fear that if SDC gets his jumping together, 3 miles will find flemenstar out. Again.

Lay Flemmy in Hennessey if he gets beat he may not run in GC so your bets down,if he wins, his GC price will tumble

I like china rock at 16/1 eway, 3 places. He travelled real well in the lexus, and should be much fitter this time.

Staying 3miles is 1 thing (and only just at that (Flemenstar)
But my point was (jasey) that he is not a Gold Cup horse (Flem) & he never will be.

Agree (miller).Maybe not a Cheltenham horse at any distance
