Is this very good athletic animal of Charlie's going to hose up in the guineas? Nibbled at earlier in week from 20/1 to 16/1. When do they start to work the better ones if the guineas is on the agenda out of curiosity. Assuming it hasn't been sat in its box lately and must be showing something. And finally like Laddies seem to have an idea about some Irish stables chances do any of our bigger bookmakers ever appear to be consistently shorter about the Hills runners? OI OI. Where's the Brains Trust? Figgis still on here with the shrewd time analysis?

A very good shout I would say, looks very progressive.

Really open year so as good a chance as anything. Will only be doing conditioning work at the moment but at least it would appear that she is healthy, perhaps looks very well and hence why she has been backed. Market not strong so won't take hardly anything for a horse to shorten though.

Roo and Cry .. thank - you both. VC were only 12/1 if I remember and I'm interested to know if some of our better bookmakers have more of an angle on this stable. Anybody out there got an opinion and/or privy to that information? What are the times like in comparison to the other big players. Keep having my £20 ew every other day so will have a pot full soon.

Charlie Hills expects the unbeaten Just The Judge to head to the Qipco 1000 Guineas without having a trial.

Now part-owned by race sponsor Sheikh Fahad Al-Thani's Qatar Bloodstock operation, the Lawman filly won a maiden and Listed race at Newbury before the Group Two Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket.

"She came back from her break looking as if it had done her the world of good," Hills told Racing UK.

"She's quite a robust filly and looks pretty good. The Guineas comes very soon so I think she will go straight there, maybe after a racecourse gallop at the Craven meeting."

Hi loto, Sky Lantern tops my figures, I've had a nibble at her and Big Break in the AP market. It wasn't a great year for 2yo fillies times and Just the Judge's figures give her solid place prospects if training on. She might even win if she improves a few pounds more than the others and, of course, SL, Certify and BB may not even train on.

Thanks you two. Think I'll have a few more quid on.

Figgis what would be your recommendation at this stage for the 2000 Guineas?
Report Howellsy February 3, 2013 12:57 PM GMT
I think Hannon's Beautiful View is interesting on speed figures, but she seemed a bit of a late developer, and the Guineas isn't a good race for those. I gave her a similar figure to The Fugue in the equivalent race, but it was the latter's debut, whereas Beautiful View had already run. Definitely one to follow though.

Howellsy and Figgis on my thread .. like the good old days. Trust you two are both keeping very well. Wheres JamesP and the good old Doc with his breeding analysis? Main Racing Forum is just about dead now and lacks it's old sparkle. BF in decline I think generally. Anything for Cheltenham you two? I've got a bundle on Sacre at 5/4 including a £200 treble Spain winning the footie at 11/10, Wiggins in France at evens and all winnings on to Sprinter. I like my £50 doubles throughout season with a football match and a Cheltenham horse. Soon piles up. That said I've done a big big bundle on Big Bucks at 6/4 (enough to make you cry and I could have traded out and made a good few quid)

JTJ was put up by Matthew Tester as his dark horse, which I think is the reason for the money. He put Workforce/Derby up a couple of years ago at 25/1.

How exactly is an unbetaen 3 time winner, incluidng a listed and a Group 2 race, a 'dark horse'?
Report Howellsy February 5, 2013 5:59 PM GMT
Hi Liberator, I'm well mate, hope you are too. Yeh, I've been a bit quiet in recent times, putting more time into studying form and even trying to write a book about horse racing. Can't talk about Cheltenham as I don't follow the jumps. Bad luck with Big Bucks though. Also agree with uncle's comment - dark horse!!

Bluebirdfan, I've not had a bet on the 2000 as there's nothing I really fancy amongst the outsiders, I did think Moohaajim might have a good chance if he stayed, but I've downgraded his form a bit since. I don't think Dawn Approach is a sure bet, as I rated his sire a pound higher as a 2yo and he still managed to just get beat, but he obviously is going to be difficult to beat if he remains in form, as the price reflects.

Eye eye boys good solid support today fill them boots again. Bognor Regis or Bermuda for the jollies that is the question.

Hi LOTO, I like Just The Judge too (see separate 1000 Guineas thread).  Well done with the Sprinter Sacre bets, trebles etc!
