hope you are right about the bolting in on boxing day !
Report Graeme83 • December 18, 2012 5:24 PM GMT
If he doesn't get near them at Kempton he could go for the Champion Chase. Choo Choo.
Report gutfeeling • December 18, 2012 5:31 PM GMT
If he wins easily or otherwise Boxing day they'll surely go for Gold Cup(PS Already on for Ryanair so i'm hoping for a big run without placing)
Report sintonian • December 18, 2012 7:46 PM GMT
The Ryanair is such an uncertain race to bet in atm. None of them you can say for sure will definitley run. It's a mixture of Champion Chase horses and GC horses.
Report buddeliea • December 18, 2012 7:48 PM GMT
And Albertas!!
Report flyingbolt • December 18, 2012 7:57 PM GMT
If he "bolts in" at Kempton the chance of him going for the Ryanair will be precisely ZERO.
Report alexmillwall • December 18, 2012 8:16 PM GMT
agreed, weird logic on this thread
Report FOYLESWAR • December 18, 2012 9:21 PM GMT
if he bolts up then there is only one festival race he will go for and thats the gold cup !
Report buddeliea • December 18, 2012 9:40 PM GMT
Be in the Ryanair imo, been saying it for ages now,and as yet seen nothing to change that view.Looks a 2 and half miler to me,but Still its all about Kempton, and that will decide his target.
Report marychain1 • December 18, 2012 10:07 PM GMT
I cant imagine that they would go for the Gold Cup unless it blows the field apart in this, and I cant imagine that if its as soft as we're led to believe. I think Cue Card will go for the Ryanair, and is my idea of the winner at this stage. But I dont think it will win the KG.
Report judorick • December 19, 2012 10:15 AM GMT
It's all about the Gold Cup with this fellow. I've taken advantage of the Victorbet ante post offer where you get a bet to the same value if the horse doesn't run

If he does win the King George I doubt the trainer will have any other race on his mind. He clearly believes in the horse and will surely declare his intention to go for the CGC if the horse wins.

As I have explained in several other threads, the similarities between Cue Card and both best Mate and Kicking King, at the same stage of their careers, are quite striking. I just don't see the trainer ducking the issue if the horse performs really well at Kempton. If he patently fails to stay at Kempton then sure they will be looking at the Ryan Air so we shall have to wait and see.

Agreed with other peoples comments on the logic to this thread. Very bizzare, if he bolts up on boxing day then the only race at all he will be going for at Cheltenham is the Gold Cup :-S
Report sintonian • December 27, 2012 9:42 PM GMT
Ryanair is going to be very competitive again this year like last. SE likely to run and should be fav. You then have Grand Crus now he's in-form, Champion Court, possibly Flemenstar if he does not get the trip tomorrow but I think he will, Menorah back on form who won the Supreme. Looks a deep field.
Report BarryM • December 27, 2012 10:06 PM GMT
Very good field shaping up, you can throw in Finian's Rainbow as well. But take out Grand Crus, he will go for the Gold Cup if he makes the meeting. I'm not sure Cue Card stays well enough for the Ryanair myself. He was never going to get 3m in a horsebox. He needs to learn to settle or he'll always be without a trip really - the Haldon Gold Cup was perfect for him, but he showed at Newbury last year that he doesn't really get 2.5m in top company.
Report buddeliea • December 28, 2012 7:30 AM GMT
settling is vital, maybe he never will, but imo a different jockey would help.
Report festivalfanatic • December 28, 2012 9:55 AM GMT
He had a reaaly hard race on Wednesday. I just hope they haven't bottomed him.
Report duffy • December 28, 2012 2:53 PM GMT
He settled much better on boxing day after that first fence blunder , he's got an awkward head carriage at the best of times that makes it look worse.
Report sintonian • December 28, 2012 7:14 PM GMT
Flemstar 5/2 Fav in places after today. FWIW.
Report duffy • December 28, 2012 7:35 PM GMT
If flemenstar runs in the ryannair, I think he will obliterate CC and co...ott I know Grin
Report sintonian • December 28, 2012 8:00 PM GMT
he should run in the QMCC
Report Shiekh Me Hand • February 17, 2013 3:04 AM GMT
Choo Choo - departing last station headed for the RYANAIR as advised ... your welcome Tongue Out
Report buddeliea • February 17, 2013 8:31 AM GMT
yep,was always to me the most likely race.Although i did see his trainer still mention the QM!!

Not sure what would have happened if CChris had jumped the 2nd last, but it looked to me that Cue Card got home fine, and for me he will be ok at a furlong more at Cheltenham, although i concede it aint a given.
Major player though,has to be.
I would still be concerned if hes lit up early on,cos their will be horses in the Ryanair that will make sure whoever wins will have to stay well.
Around 4/1,not sure i would take that right now myself, would ideally like to see what else out of the current entries actually lines up,before taking those odds.

Well done Shiekh, what price did you get?
Report Shiekh Me Hand • March 18, 2013 1:08 AM GMT
Had a $15 win trixie in December-

Hurricane Fly 5/1
Cue Card 6/1
Long Run 7/1

Would have cleared 7 grand for Long Run but not to be :(  - Ended up with $630 so alls well that ends well Tongue Out

Just nice to be right about something for a change!
Report Brian_Ookiebasher • March 18, 2013 3:05 PM GMT
You fancied it so much you put it in a Trixie??

FFS
Report Shiekh Me Hand • March 18, 2013 11:41 PM GMT
I put it in a trixie as shown and also in 2 x $20 separate doubles with Boston Bob 10/1 and with Captain Conan 7/1, so yes I faniced it so much I put it in all my bets for Cheltenham Ante Post...

What would you rather me put it in ?? a lasagne?

I still won more than I staked. Tongue Out  (staked $100 - returned $630 = +$530)

I thought that this was the whole point of gambling....

Did you win Brian? You sound bitter? I hope that you won.
