Gold Cup, Ryanair or RSA?

He's clearly not short pf pace.

looks like the business to me - I did think Fingal Bay might have got him off the bit!

Surely not this guff about a Pipe novice in the Gold Cup again!

50-50 Ryanair/RSA imo, presumably whichever one Our Father doesn't run in.
Report duffy November 17, 2012 9:41 PM GMT
Whatever happens, i'll be laying him at a short price for next years PP.Silly

Laugh
Report sintonian November 18, 2012 11:35 AM GMT
he'll hack up in his next race(s) and then get beat in March.
Report duncan idaho November 18, 2012 3:12 PM GMT
given that his next race will almost certainly be easier than winning a Chelt Fest race, you may well be right!
Report duffy November 18, 2012 3:43 PM GMT
let's keep a close eye on what runs placed behind him in the feltham because one of them will be the rsa winner.Grin
Report roobuck November 18, 2012 3:49 PM GMT
Won't run in Ryanair - it'll likely be the Jewson. If that races was good enough for Sir des Champs, certainly good enough for Dynaste
Report strontium November 18, 2012 5:36 PM GMT
sorry, that was a typo - meant Jewson/RSA
Report roobuck November 18, 2012 6:19 PM GMT
No worries, tbf you were just following on from OP

That being said you cannot take away from what he did yesterday, looked very good. Defo not one for RSA
Report strontium November 18, 2012 6:26 PM GMT
Yes he did - they are in a nice position with Our Father and Dynaste.
Report cryoftruth November 22, 2012 8:11 PM GMT
I got Betfair to put him on the Gold Cup ante post list and there have been some people taking as short as 130 and as high as 410.

Not at all sure where the real value is but definitley in treble figures.

Seems from what In read that they think this horse is as good as they have had for quite a while, definitely potential Gold cup class anyway.

The thread was a bit of a wind up; however you can see a debate starting if he hacks up in the Feltham as seems quite possible on the basis of his one chase.

A lot of hot air from the Pipe stable in general. We hear very little about some of their big handicap winners but plenty about the likes of Grand Crus. Poor Big Bucks was going to be slaughtered the last two seasons. Just because they believe Dynaste to be as good as they have had for quite a while hardly means that much.

Polished round of jumping at Newbury today for a novice.

Looks a smart nov, jumps & travels.
Jewson horse in my book.
Report roobuck November 30, 2012 4:41 PM GMT
Agree, Jewson all day long.

Beg to differ. He lacks size and scope to my eye. His class can see him through in these early season small field affairs, and he's done it very tidily. But in a bigger field with the heat on I see him making mistakes and getting muscled out of things, a bit like in the World hurdle. Still, the hype will be tremendous, as usual.
Report cryoftruth December 1, 2012 6:03 AM GMT
"Very tidily" - yet again he was never off the bridle, and the opposition were not mugs. He utterly shatton them.

He is a very economical jumper, and has plenty of speed.

He has time on his side, so if he was mine he would go for the Arkle this season, and then look at the Gold CUp the following year.
Report buddeliea December 1, 2012 6:54 AM GMT
thought he was outjumped by the leader a few times during the race, and its a shame that horse fell towards the end.

Dynaste is not a horse i will be backing, the hype will have his price shorter than it should be,its Grand crus all over again.
if hes the real deal so be it.
As for the Arkle,if he got anywhere near overturn i would be amazed.
Report roobuck December 1, 2012 10:42 AM GMT
I agree about the price and the hype, but you cannot at this stage take it away for the horse as he has won two decent races well.

Let me be clear that my point earlier was that Dynaste should be aimed at the Jewson not saying I saw him as the likely winner.
Report buddeliea December 1, 2012 11:00 AM GMT
oh yeh,he looks as good a novice as weve seen so far.His price though will always be wrong imo.
To be honest at this early stage i think he will end up a stayer, but what they do this season is anyones guess.
