With 35 runners spread all over the wide expanse of Newmarket it seems an impossible task to find a winner, having said that I have had last years and also a couple of the previous ones so its fingers crossed for another big priced winner this time around.

I am of the opinion that the two Godolphin horses have every chance with luck in running and also with a decent enough draw, for me i would like my horses to be high and to be fair they are more in the middle so thats a bit of a downer but that can be overcome.

START RIGHT is looking like he is about to peak and everyone knows the horse has always had talent this is normally shown by the prices that he goes off at, well in this one we are able to get 33-1 and I think he has every chance of winning this, his runs this season and there have not been that many give a clue or two as to his chances here and this fast pace, track and trip could play right into his hands, he also travels well and has a turn of foot and rates excellent value in my opinion, he has shown at Goodwood and Sandown that he can go close here and looks decent value.

MAN OF ACTION is another who has an excellent chance if for no other reason than the race last year when he would of gone very very close but for the nightmare of nightmare journeys, he also showed at Newmarket that he has the ability when beaten the time before last and maybe the 9f will suit him much better, he also has a decent turn of foot and again with luck in running has to be in with a shout.

Both big prices but should not be overlooked, if I had to go for one it would be START RIGHT but in a field this size i will back them both.

best wishes,

MANUEL.

Good luck Manuel, my darts already thrown.

Excellent reasonnng as usual but I would question whether the race is actually going to be run at that fast a pace. Out of interest why would you like your horses drawn high?

In my opinion i think the quality is drawn high and i would really want to be where the quality is, just my preference, i do think it will be a decent pace and i have to say i will back them both but i can see START RIGHT going close

I also like Man of Action along with another dozen or so. I think Im going to split the race into 3 1-12 13-24,25-35 one from each section

Reckon the ground and trip will be about perfect for Start Right. He has looked a suspect stayer at 10f or further.

Just noticed that the two Godolphin horses have had 40 races between them and on only ONE occasion has the word 'soft' appeared in the going description - this race two years ago!

I don't think Manuel will be doing any rain-dances Grin
