Are you sure you don't mean two rooms and ONE bed? Devil

That has me concerned, so my spare room (5 minutes drive from Aintree) is OFF the menu Plain

I go every year tyronesam an live about 15 mins from the course, your best bet is to stay in Southport or ormskirk an travel each day to the course, the b+bs will b alot cheaper there, if u stay in ormskirk the train will take u right outside the course an will take 15 mins, if u stay in southport its 2 trains but again it will stop right outside the course but that will take roughly 1 hour

TS - best of luck in your quest for some bum-fun Devil
Sorry Tyrone...I just can't resist an opportunity to take the piss Silly

Bazzar - no squire...I'm Anfield vermin, but not of the Red variety.
Along similar lines...I'm assuming as you LIVE in Manchester you're a City fan? Grin

Dibble's advice sounds about right to me. Accomodation at Ormskirk will probably be limited but there should be plenty available in Southport. Both are pretty decent civilised towns.

A fan attends the matches, haven't done so for 40 years or more.

If you're going for the racing Ormskirk is very convenient for Aintree but it's a pretty quiet town. Southport has a bit more life and as said above it's about an hour on the train. I'm staying in Southport this year.

Of course you've also got Liverpool if you fancy a big city but it will probably cost that weekend.

TS - sorry for seeming so flippant earlier in the thread but I don't have any real suggestions for you.

All I can advise is that if you like the 'high-life' then get yourself sorted at a B&B in Liverpool because you're sure to have a swell time if you're partial to a bit of Scouse fanny, but it becomes tiresome after a while when you've fcuked them all Laugh

If like me...you're getting on (I'm 47) and you like things a bit less racy
nowadays (or there's a bítch on your flank) because you don't fit in, then Southport's a smashing town - I wish I could afford a house there.

That's probably the best advise but things do cost a little more there...though it's worth it.
Good luck squire, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience wherever you decide to stay.

Stopped in Southport for the full festival last year, really enjoyed. If you cba with the train a taxi was £20 from the Scarsbrick hotel (morning beers) to the course

Stayed here 2 years ago http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/england/liverpool/39007/

If you are looking for budget, then this was very reasonable, very nice inside, easy to get a taxi to the centre of town or to the racecourse.

is Manchester an option lads ?  more than likely we will only go racing on the friday anyway and enjoy the other two days via a bookies and a good ale house next door !!!
