LADBROKES CHANGING THE RULES

The market is an ante-post market and Ladbrokes decision to go Non Runner - No Bet is clearly their choice, but they cannot go applying rule 4's on ante-post markets surely?

One would think not.but this shower have previous form in this area.

I was caught out in a similar scenario at the breeders cup last year.
if the final declarations are not out the bet must be anti post with no rule 4,if the n/r no bet is subject to a rule 4 then it's not a conceession at all.

there's no such thing as a rule 4 in an antepost market, (even with nrnb concessions) it can only be done after final declarations are made

We all know what cowardly scum they are but for a change, I can understand their position, as if Camelot suffered a late setback, at their price of 1/3, the R4 would be a massive 75p - in effect, they'd be going 7/1 fav Main Sequence, whose 'adjusted' price would be 7/4! That's madness...and suicidal!

Sorry guys, but for once, I think it's a justifiable decision they've taken.

And navel what about the without Camelot market, and the Portland? That means they could have a rule 4 for a horse ballotted out - if that happens I'll kick up a right fuss - presuming I get the winner naturally

It is against tattersalls rules to apply rule 4 to antepost bets.

NG...if there is a non runner they will adjust their book accordingly,yes in your scenario backers of m sequence would have a good price,but that is the nature of risk/reward ante post betting.

the n/r no bet offered before final decs,is an extra offer by the bookmakers and no rule 4 should be applied.

the bookmaker still has the option not to take a bet on the event if the liability is too much.
To have it both ways with a rule 4 is pointless for the punter =he /she may as well wait for final decs before wagering.

I totally agree with what you guys are saying...it's just that they shouldn't have given that 'generous' offer if their possible contingency meant they were always gonna pull the rug!

It's not right what they've done, but it's understandable...they do far worse every single day!

its nr no bet till decds are made. after this time a nr happens yer ante post bet can b r4'd. not before.
