No Betting yet. Plain
Report roobuck August 28, 2012 3:22 PM BST
On decent ground Snow Fairy would be tough to beat but there is the 'bounce' factor to consider though possibly less likely now at her age.

If it is soft then Nathaniel.

The only one at possibly a likely bigger price would be Akeed Mofeed though according to Oxx after his last run, this race may not be for him.

At this stage I'm guessing it will be a tight little race that will possibly not be a betting proposition
Report sintonian August 28, 2012 3:35 PM BST
Yeah agree. Not much we dont know about these beasts so will be priced accordingly.

I really hope the ground is decent so Snow Fairy can run as i'd like Nathaniel beaten for TTF purposes, but he is looking the most likely winner.Sad
Report roobuck August 28, 2012 3:38 PM BST
I'd like Nathaniel beaten to confirm to connections that he is better over 12F with give and should go to the Arc! LaughLaugh
Report A_T August 28, 2012 10:12 PM BST
Is Imperial Monarch really going to be all Ballydoyle sends? Strange no SNA - guess they want to try to get this race on IM's resume for stud value.
Report sintonian August 29, 2012 12:28 AM BST
SNA has an entry, but race probably too soon after York.

I think they are using the race as a prep for IM before the Arc, like they did with Dylan Thomas, Duke of Marmalade.
Report sintonian September 1, 2012 1:57 PM BST
CDA is not running.

PP/Billies are betting on this now fyi.

Nath 13/8 PP
Snow Fairy 11/4 (billies)
SNA 5/1
IM 6/1
Princes Highway 8/1 (waits for the Vermeille) ??
Report HKAccie September 1, 2012 7:04 PM BST
IS there any news on Snow Fairy's targets? Will she be running in Japan and HK again?
Report mr_sykes September 2, 2012 3:22 PM BST
wouldnt be surprised if SNA ran along with IM,they did something similiar a couple of yrs ago with Rip van Winkle and Cape Blanco with the lesser fancied of the 2 going on to win.PP are offering 3 places at the minute, not sure how long that will last if there are doubts about other runners but weather for wk is promised good.Like the chances of IM,he would prob prefer some ease but so does Nathaniel,Princess Highway could grab a place.
Report sintonian September 2, 2012 6:00 PM BST
Not sure IM has the pace for 10f, particularly on Good ground.

Snow Fairy at 11/4 looks the bet, but then there is the ante-post risk built in which I dont want. Just gonna wait.
Report roobuck September 2, 2012 6:44 PM BST
Forecast looks quite good for the next week which surely is to Snow Fairy's advantage. Mucha s I like the horse, cannot see Nathaniel having the pace to win over 10F with 'soft' in the going - or yielding as its Ireland.
Report sintonian September 2, 2012 6:50 PM BST
without Soft you mean Roo?
Report roobuck September 2, 2012 6:57 PM BST
Indeed I do
Report mr_sykes September 2, 2012 7:25 PM BST
hard to know IM would nearly want to run a big race if he is to go on and run in the Arc,only has the one Grp1 so far,Snow Fairy could bounce as a previous poster said,IM could well make all like he did in Paris,Im sure he can go ok on good, possibly Nathaniel that needs the soft more
Report quickoats September 2, 2012 10:13 PM BST
The Clerk of the course in Dublin says it Soft ( Good to soft in places) reckons it will Good ( Good to soft in places)  Hope Nathaniel can do it!
Report quickoats September 2, 2012 10:14 PM BST
Sorry it Soft ( Good to soft in places ) at the moment and will be Good (GTS) by saturday
Report The Great Daylami September 3, 2012 1:34 AM BST
Any suggestions for last minute accom for this?

With the Hurling final Dublin seems nearly booked out.
Report sintonian September 3, 2012 11:51 AM BST
yeah had overlooked the fact IM could make the running. I am convinced they want a Group 1 over 10f on the CV of SNA but would they run him against IM?

And is Princess Highway running? Last I read she was waiting for the Vermeille but Dermot Weld is canny!
Report mr_sykes September 3, 2012 1:54 PM BST
I think SNA might have enough big races won at this stage, surely IM's CV needs looking after now, would be surprised if PH didnt turn up
Report sintonian September 3, 2012 2:32 PM BST
IM likely to be kept in-training next year though. Last hurrah for SNA. We'll see anyway, I dont think he'll run.
Report A_T September 3, 2012 6:18 PM BST
Coolmore will want to win their home race so I think SNA will run. Given the record of 3yos so far this season doubt they will want to pin all their hopes on IM.
Report roobuck September 3, 2012 7:22 PM BST
If the ground does turn pretty decent, I think Weld may well run PH rather than wait for the Vermeille and risk soft ground
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle September 3, 2012 7:29 PM BST
I think Imperial Monarch is a top class animal. Hopefully he go and win this.
Report roobuck September 3, 2012 8:18 PM BST
He could well be top class but don't believe that 10F on decent ground will play to his strengths
Report reveley September 3, 2012 9:52 PM BST
Snow Fairy at 3/1 and Saint Nicholas Abbey at 6/1 just makes no sense. Either Snow Fairy should be shorter, or Saint Nicholas Abbey should be much higher.
Report Millerracing67 September 4, 2012 3:37 PM BST
Snow Fairy is more effective at 10f than SNA, is she not, hence the price diff.
I would be worried if the ground is gd by Sat for Nathaniel, especially at 10f.
The Weld filly would be of interest on gd ground, she hated the heavy ground last time. At 13.5 on here, she is over priced in my book, she will be much shorter if going to post. (back to lay)
Report SHADEEDPULLSCLEAR September 5, 2012 10:27 AM BST
There is now: shows what a rip off the high street market is when you look at what you can get on here...
Report sintonian September 6, 2012 10:58 AM BST
Imperial Monarch taken out. Im guessing he runs in one of the Arc trials next or heads straight there?

Nathaniel
Snow Fairy
SNA
Born To Sea
Light Heavy
Daddy Long Legs
Report Millerracing67 September 6, 2012 12:12 PM BST
Dissapointing final decs imoSad
If the ground is gd, then Snow Fairy should take some beating, if at her best.
Report A_T September 6, 2012 12:36 PM BST
At least there's 3 genuine group 1 horses in it
Report Millerracing67 September 6, 2012 12:54 PM BST
2 of which are better at 12f.
Report unclepuncle September 6, 2012 1:55 PM BST
SNA @ 4/1 looks good to me.

Also doubled him with Bated Breath @ 7/2.
Report mr_sykes September 6, 2012 2:03 PM BST
disappointing not to see IM,Prix Niel could be next,SNA mightnt be far away if it continues to dry out
Report A_T September 8, 2012 3:04 PM BST
For me not a lot between the first 3. But ground is against Nath and SF never wins against the colts. SNA is the best price and the one for me.
Report bazzar September 8, 2012 5:54 PM BST
A_T, re-view last years race, DETTORI rode a poor race
and only beaten about 1/2 length, if he had gone 1/2 second sooner than he did he would
locked SO YOU THINK against the rail and he would have had to come round SNOW FAIRYand could not have done it.
Report A_T September 8, 2012 6:41 PM BST
bazzar might have been better if you posted before the race Laugh
Report sintonian September 8, 2012 8:56 PM BST
SNA obviously not good enough to win a G1 over 10f but does anyone think he could have got 2nd today or am I being harsh>?
Report ilikewavingatbuses September 8, 2012 9:27 PM BST
syt a better 10f horse than the lot of em.
Report A_T September 8, 2012 9:37 PM BST
buses I don't think there's any doubt about that.
Report MrDinos September 8, 2012 9:52 PM BST
SNA has still yet to win a race of any grade over 10f, I think that says it all!

Snow Fairy is an absolute credit to connections and great training by Ed Dunlop once again. Cosy win for her in the end, she is better over 1m 2f, the other pair are better over 1m 4f.
Report bazzar September 9, 2012 12:33 PM BST
I wonder if that's why he was rated top stayer in Australia!!!!
Report bazzar September 9, 2012 11:19 PM BST
SO YOU THINK was rated top stayer in Australia, according
to international ratings.
These are the same ratings that gave FRANKEL a 136 rating
for his 3 y o career and rates him higher now.
Report bazzar September 10, 2012 9:11 AM BST
An oft repeated phrase is that SNOW FAIRY had never beaten colts,
yet the first 3 home in the arc were FILLIES, with SO YOU THINK
in 4th ST NICHOLAS ABBEY in 5th and several colts well behind.
