Get on before they announce that SYT is going for the Queen Anne, only has Strong Suit to challenge him for the 2nd spot,as the rest are garbage compare to the standard that he sets and SS is highly unlikely to be good enough to beat Excelebration even when race fit,let alone on his first start

same old story here 1st Frankel 2nd Excelebration

6/4 is a great bet

Have had this bet in the past but would be worried about SS this time. He is a very good horse.

SYT wont run so no idea why he is a 3/1 chance.

The ground will decide a lot here, if they deem it too soft they wont run Strong Suit, as they didn't take the chance at Newbury.
Report HorseRacingExpert June 14, 2012 4:23 PM BST
I like SS as well, backed him at Goodwood and Newmarket last year, but 1st time up,over a trip possibly a furlong to long to be seen at his best and up against a horse in Excelebration, with far superior form,he would have to have improved an aweful lot to be able to put it upto Excelebration, there is no way i can see it,its an outstanding bet

I agree the price stands out a lot. Just wary of going to the well once too often. Gl.

Report roobuck June 14, 2012 7:40 PM BST
On the face of it really good value and wouldn't be worried about SS at all on ground that is likely not be quick enough for him to show his best.

However the only thing that is slightly off-putting is the POW entry - why?
Report HorseRacingExpert June 14, 2012 8:34 PM BST
Ballydoyle always enter there horses in everything,i would not be worried about the POW entry,

Report tinkler June 14, 2012 10:23 PM BST
The price looks like a rick to me. Chance of SYT running in this and not the POW are probably minimal
and the chance of Excelebration running in the POW is probably negligable 0.001 % ( AOB secretary clerical error). Strong suit looks a specialist 7f horse to me ,1m with cut in the ground and pacemaker(s)
could well expose his stamina problems.
Excelebration has looked good as ever this year and Joseph O'brien shrewdly gave him a relatively easy time
at Newbury. The rest of the opposition look out classed. The only slight doubt is that jockeys who have
ridden him in the past have said he's not entirely comfortable on soft ground. Taking all this into account I'd estimate his true price to be 4/7 and have thus backed it at 6/4.
Report The Headmaster June 14, 2012 10:33 PM BST
Yeah, 6/4 looks wrong without SYT.

Does that Frankie booking on Worthadd signal an intent to run though?  In the same market I think I'd also, maybe rather, play him at 7/1 e/w.
Report sintonian June 15, 2012 9:39 AM BST
Ground no isse for Excel as far as I can see. It was positively sloppy when he won in France. It was pretty soft when he won in Germany aswell.
Report The Headmaster June 15, 2012 10:00 AM BST
True sint.  His ex-trainer insisted he wanted it on top but the form book doesn't back that up.
Report jonibake June 15, 2012 11:30 AM BST
I would agree that he HANDLES softer ground but if you look at his RPR's his best form is on better ground. He was very mch entitled to win the two races last year and if you watch the French race it was very workmanlike.

Saying all that I agree he is a virtual certainty for second place but I also expect to see Frankel beat him by further than he has done before so the winning margin bets looks appealing.

Frankel faces ten rivals in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, with Aidan O'Brien relying on Excelebration to lead his party.

So You Think was also in the frame for the Ballydoyle team but as expected he waits for Wednesday's Prince Of Wales's Stakes.

Sir Henry Cecil again runs Bullet Train as a pacemaker with O'Brien fielding Windsor Palace in the same role.

Strong Suit represents Richard Hannon and Richard Hughes while Frankie Dettori rides Worthadd for Sir Mark Prescott.

Epsom winner Side Glance, German raider Indomito, Premio Loco, Red Jazz and Helmet complete the field.

Having been sunk to the nuts on Valyra at all sorts of different prices, HRE, I'm contemplating an extremely big each-way bet on Memphis Ten as an encore.  Price is just wrong imo (assuming he's an intended).  I take it he's not for you?  Colour Vision no good either?!?
Report HorseRacingExpert June 18, 2012 12:12 PM BST
There is no way in this world,or the next, that FAME AND GLORY does not win this race, the absolute banker of the meeting for me and i would be extremely surprised if Opinion Poll is out of the 3,so i would say that you have just one place left,
I could not have Court Vision on my mind at all,but MT has the class to nick a place if he stays and if he is not used somewhat as a pacemaker of the champ.
Gl whatever you decide sir

I have had a massive shout from MT 2 weeks ago from some1 close t the stable, was the one they put up wen asked about Ascot. Hardwicke likely destination tho although GC was nt ruled out at the time! Heard nothin since

Has loads to find on the front 2 i think, was beaten by both F&G and OP on champions day recieving 11 lbs from both of them,i know he was a 3yo and getting the allowences, but the front 2 in the market have a 9 lb turn around in the weights this week and i cant see him having improved anywhere near what will be needed to turn that form around,i like MT out of your 2,he could be very competitive with OP if staying
Report HorseRacingExpert June 18, 2012 12:56 PM BST
MT will only run in the Gold Cup if something happens to F&G,the target is saturday
Report sintonian June 18, 2012 12:57 PM BST
Only way F&G is beaten is if they make it a thorough test of stamina as the horse still has the speed for 12f. But he is very classy and it'll take a good one to beat him.imo

I nearly backed him ante-post at 3/1 4 weeks ago but bottled it Sad but still hope he wins for TTF purposes. His price does seem short given the proximity of Opinion Poll last year, however.
Report HorseRacingExpert June 18, 2012 1:06 PM BST
I dont think that will even get him beat sint,i think he stays forever and won easily last year,OP was well beaten,OP looks to have improved since then, but F&G will be much better also,it will be just as easy as last year,if not easier

Had the 3/1 antepost in lots of double and treble bets also, but Sizing Europe and Hurricane Fly ended themCry
Report The Headmaster June 18, 2012 1:09 PM BST
That's just weight-for-age, HRE.  If Colour Vision has made 'normal' improvement from 3 to 4, and the evidence suggests he's made, at the very least, 'normal' improvement, that weight turn around means nothing.  To say he's got loads to find on the front two is pretty unfathomable imo.

I'm clearly sticking my neck out, as **** seems to have one or two fans who find the idea of defeat unthinkable, but he ain't no even money chance to me.  OP got a cr@p ride from the boy wonder last year and the October run leaves **** with little in hand of either OP or, perhaps more interestingly, CV.  Add in Saddlers and possibly MT, although Hardwicke sounds like the go there, and I think he's got plenty on his plate myself.
