Good plan. Taking her on has proved such a money spinner...

ant reasoning way you are taking her on? not saying you're wrong but would like to why you want to take her on

I can see some sense in taking her on ante post at odds of 1/2 as there is always the chance of her not travelling over well and perhaps not running, if you can back on the day at 1/2 then no risk !!

In my opinion it seems a crazy move as i believe she will probably go off shorter than that on the day however with every race you can always form an argument even in extreme cases such as this.

The negative / questionable aspects i believe are as follows :-

1) Has she ever raced over a straight 6 furlongs as the few races i have seen of her they were left handed sprints?
2) Like all sprint races she could be the recipient of a bad draw and that could be a big negative.
3) Will she like the UK stalls as they may well differ to the Aussie stalls? I know UK stalls are far smaller than US stalls but not sure of the Aussie stall configuration.
4) Has she ever been held in behind a wall of horses as she seems to break well and then take back just of the speed. This opinion again is from the few races i have seen.
5) How will her jockey adapt to the UK racing style? The jocks in the Jubilee won't think oh it's Black Caviar i best not block her in like they possibly do in Aus!!

I could probably think of more but theres 5 reasons to take on a horse of such magnitude!!

Lavaman her best form is down the straight six at Flemington, she is peerless there.

She won't be behind a wall of horses with her speed, which would also see her able to speed across to overcome any draw bias.

Her jockey, Luke Nolen, has ridden winners at Ascot before, rode a couple at the Shergar Cup thingo I believe.

Stalls, however, has always been of some concern with her, she's had a couple of issues in the past.

I think Moody has inquired about taking an Aussie stalls handler over there.

she'll be 1/3 or shorter at post time!!!!!

This horse is being constantly backed on here under the odds available in UK bookmakers, can only suspect that it is Aussie betfair accounts backing the horse significantly bigger than they could do at home. Still got a great position on this now. Very excited about seeing her run in the UK Grin

surely they'll have her in and out of a few UK stalls before the big day?

Easily the most active ante-post market on here for Royal Ascot and has been a great one for the traders. Did very briefly touch 1/3 on a few days ago. I am sure they will have tested her in the stalls pre-race and she will have had plenty of time to put any weight back on lost in the journey over. Nothing much from the trainer or connections since she landed but the assumption must be everything has gone relatively smoothly.

No interest from a betting perspective but Im genuinely keen to see this horse, should be exciting even without a investment.........if forced wouldnt want to be a layer at anything like 1.5,now @1.33 there would be enough doubt there to take her on,but as the man says "its a no bet for me".

Laid it at 1.38 as I'll be standing at Ascot & I cann't see the ave punters backing it at much shorter.Could easily drift out on the day when the punters back the others & the books have a lop sided book so will want to get her.Of course there's always the chance of it being a non runner so for what difference there'll be for me between laying it on the day or laying it ante post the value has to be laying it at 1.38 ante post & if it doesn't run i've got a result with no hassle. As I said I cann't see it starting much less than 1.38 so at that price it had to be laid.
